We live in a democracy. If a majority wants to improve and tighten immigration laws does that make us who are in favor all Xenophobes?

The Left doesn't want there to be individual countries any more. Xenophobia stands in the way of their globalism.

The more homogenous he society the more people see themselves as countrymen. This is biological fact. Multiculturalism doesn't work because folks like their own culture and don't want to be told they must change for new people. That always breeds malcontent. Folks group with people most like them, that's our biology.
We need to become more homogenous before we introduce people of other countries, and then only at rates that they are forced to become part of the melting pot and not create their own large social groups.
Short version: America is supposed to be a melting pot. Throw too many different people in and nothing melts.

But my sociology and communications textbooks tell me that we've moved away from a melting pot country and have embraced more of a salad/spaghetti bowl type, and it's for the better! I mean, apparently they speak for everyone.

Maybe xenophobic was the less correct term. Homogeneous is more accurate, and yes, Muslims are fricking up their "Utopia" by demanding the benefits without contributing to the cause.

fell in love with a Swedish gal when I was living in Europe. Beautiful woman, and cool as hell. Wanted to come to the states and be with me. But I was 25 at the time and was like nah there's others out there, I'm too young to settle down. Good god I'm a fricking moron.
