So funny, right?!? Scalise is still heavily sedated and was very close to dying. Hilarious.

I'm sure the NRA will talk about how the shooter purchased his weapon legally right?

The fact the phrase "gun control" exists in this countr should tell you all you need to know. All "gun control" blatantly defies the US constitution. All gun permits blatantly defy the US Constitution. We don't need permits to vote or speak but supposedly need permits to carry a device that is protected by the US Constitution.

Same thing they did at Berkeley, absolutely nothing.

Words of wisdom from Phil Robertson: "Where I live, I am 911." I suggest everyone adopt that mindset. I know I do. Good luck.

But it's a good thing you guys are such a peaceful group who doesn't resort to name calling and such

I guess name calling is better than shooting people and hitting them with lock/socks, and bottles right?

Actually, I hope they talk about how he identified with the Democratic Party.

Not much they can do other than put suspects under surveillance. I suspect they're doing that in some cases, but they need probable cause (and a warrant) to do it legally. It's a pretty high bar.

A FISA warrant (which has a much lower threshold of evidence required) would not apply to American citizens living in the U.S. *unless* there was suspicion they were "agents of a foreign power." That simply won't apply to 99% of ANTIFA people.

So, I suspect the FBI is infiltrating some of these groups just like they've done far-right groups for decades. What's the old joke about the Klan or Neo-Nazis? You go to a meeting and the other 5 guys there are all FBI informants. The far-right has become so paranoid with endless accusations of this or that guy being an FBI informant that all those organizations have pretty much dissolved over the years. Potential new members simply don't want to be a part of that mess.

We need that same chilling effect with ANTIFA. Start locking some of them up on conspiracy charges and make sure it hits national news. After a while, these guys won't know who can be trusted (as is the case with the KKK today). While it won't completely kill the movement, it will result in only a few hardcore members remaining. This puts a serious damper on new "recruitment."

Of course, social media makes it easier for radicals to congregate and socialize compared to the old days of groups like the Klan (where you pretty much had to meet face-to-face and join an organization). The good news is that it's pretty easy to monitor social media and you don't need a warrant to do it (social media is the equivalent of shouting in the street so everyone can hear you). Private e-mail and texts are a different story, though.

This well entrenched self indetified democrat that volunteered and protested campaigned under the democratic banner attempted to assinate as many republican congressman as he could.

Those are the facts. The spin isn't working. Progressives have a huge problem. Already lost the moderate dems in the rust belt. By all means continue to double down with the extremist rhetoric.

My comment about making sure everybody knows he identified with the Democratic Party was so people would realize how extreme the Dems have become.

I am conservative.

I've said here for years: we don't need gun control, we need Democrat voter control. The vast majority of gun crimes are committed by Dem party voters. Reality sucks.

It was a general response. Not meant to be directed at you personally. You just happened to be the last post in thread.

It's ignorant to put that on either side when something like this happens.

Trump's appointee to the UN, Nikki Haley blamed Trump's rhetoric for the Charleston shooter back when that happened.

The group that inspired the shooter, worked in Trump's campaign.

Does that make Trump complicit? Of course not.

You are feeding into the problem in this damn country.
