Legalize Drugs or maybe even pull a Bunny Colvin from THE WIRE HAMSTERDAM?

Stiffen gun penalties to 20 years or more?

Build more jails?

Increase welfare and LA Purchase cards?

Is this just a repercussion of the American Dream gone wrong and there are no solutions and we will always just accept it?

What ya got? And if you were running for public office and your major platform was crime, how do you convince us.

More jails and stiffer penalties. Incarcerate errbody. Goes for all races. Call it a generation lost and start from there. No welfare type benefits for second child.

Nice thought, but I take a different approach. We can't have public children to raise. But we can lock mfers up

What about a Chinese-like penalty for having more than one kid if you are not married and/or have committed more than one felony; make under $20 K a year; below a certain age? Yes, that de-Americanizes what this country means, but damn...do what ya gotta do.

Yes. How often do you find violent crimes committed by a person with a clean record? Domestic crimes, sure, but rarely in the cases of black on black crime to which you are referring. How many times do people have to hear that a child was killed in the crossfire of a drive-by by a gunman with a dozen or so arrests for violent offenses?

I'm okay with this, but it would have to be ultra-controlled and no room for mess-ups. Also, Baton Rouge would turn into Athens, Greece or something.

Don't care about black on black crime as long as they keep it amongst themselves they can kill each other off

Blacks don't give a shite about any of this. The U.S. already has one of stiffest penalties in the civil world. Doesn't seem like they care. Killing a man for them is like a walk in the park, without any thought of the repercussion.

Stop calling it black on black crime and call it plainly crime without making the situation racial.

Why are you so obsessed with race?

1) End the War on Drugs
2) Gun registration
3) Declare a War On Gangs

Yeah genius, I'm sure they're all killing each other with legally purchased guns and would readily "register" them. Idiot.

I don't think that's gonna do the trick.

Is there an epidemic of whites shooting each other up every weekend in BR that I'm not aware of?

Buy a nice, country-sized piece of land out in Africa where all who feel their ancestors were brought here unjustly could go to form their own nation, free to live in perfect harmony, free of the burdensome chains of oppression and institutional racism.

We could call it something like Libertystan or Liberia, idk

Legalize Drugs

I actually would legalize drug possession, including for hard drugs. If you deal drugs however, you go to jail, although for small-time dealers I would have programs for rehabilitation, job-training and then amnesty upon completion of the sentence after 2-5 years, provided there's no recidivism, because I think there's a moral distinction between selling drugs because you're poor and trying to survive and selling drugs because you're "makin' it rain" and want to exploit people.

For that reason, big-time drug dealers get the death penalty.

Also, legalizing drug possession gets rid of the moral hazard of blacks being arrested for drug possession at a disproportionate rate to their usage, while letting us focus on the real problem of dealing.

No, you're increasing the incentive for fathers to go AWOL.

Here's the problem with a political solution: If you look at the 2010 census figures and FBI crime statistics and do some basic math, the Native American murder rate is much closer to the white murder rate and the Asian murder rate than it is to the much higher black murder rate. Yet Native Americans faced oppression just like African Americans did.

If the issues were poverty, past oppression, guns, drugs, jails or criminal statutes, the Native American and African American murder rates should be much closer to each other, and yet they're not. For me, there's two explanations left: hundreds of thousands of white, Asian and Native American murders and violent crimes left unaccounted for, which I don't believe, or the soft bigotry of low expectations in the black community.

That soft bigotry can only be addressed through culture. What we need are pastors, community leaders and people of influence to constantly push the message of self-empowerment and self-responsibility, from the top to the bottom.

All these other issues can and should be addressed, but I don't think that would solve the main problem.

Also, I don't accept that African-Americans are incapable of making wise decisions and taking responsibility for themselves. For example, before LBJ and the Great Society, the black marriage rate was higher than the white marriage rate. Somewhere along the way culture became more permissive and outward-looking, and that needs to change.

Stiffer penalties doesn't work. We have the highest incarceration rate in the world from stiff penalties. When you have a culture that glorifies violence, deviant behavior and views schools as a day care center then nothing will change. There has to be a culture change.
