What % of All Americans have full time jobs?

Here's a link but I did the Math for you.

So basically, if you include people of working age (20 - 65) only 43.5% work full time in a job over 35 hours per week.

This is 71% of the "labor force" which is defined as everybody that wants to work.

CPSAAT01 Table:
Civilian Labor Force - 148.8K people
People not in labor force: 93.7K

CPSAAT03 Table:
Total full time workers working 35 hours or more, 20 years and over, 105.5K

That being said, I find it ridiculous that those not in labor force grew to 93.7K under the Obama administration. The population grew by 7.2%, but those not in labor force grew by 17.8%! By comparison, Under the Bush years, the population grew by 8.6% but those not in labor force grew by 11.4%. The Clinton years were the last time that the population grew at a steeper rate (9.3%) than those not in labor force (8.7%).

Just a random factoid but I read an article in WSJ last week that people in Kuwait work about 3 days per week due to oil money subsidizing their income. Now that oil prices are down the govt wants them to work more with less subsidy. But the people have developed a culture of extreme laziness and won't do it. Who could have guessed that would happen?

I heard a podcast about Saudi Arabia which was about the same story. They are having to face the fact that they must work. Crazy.........

This is largely true of most rich oil states - most of their citizens work for recreation, not because they need the money. They have to import scads of Palestinians, Phillipinos, Pakistani and (breaking with the whole P theme) folks from Sri Lanka to clean the toilets, watch the children, do manual labor, work in hotels, etc., because all of that is beneath them - the "work that rich Arabs refuse to do" if you will.

Here's a chart from 1992-2016 (figured I'd get the booming economy, the average economy and the Great Recession and afterwards). We've gone through the at lowest full-time employed working age population in nearly a quarter of a century.

I believe that we have less than a third of the American population working full time. I will find the link but I believe the numbers were about 94 million.

I suggest they start recruiting workers from Central and South America. They'll need somewhere to go for jobs once the doors to North America are closed.

It's a little trickier than that. You are considered a "full time worker" if you work more than 35+ hours a week, BUT, that can mean you work two part time jobs that combine to be 35+ hours of work per week.

Lots of folks say they work 40 hrs a week, but that includes their lunch breaks, coffee breaks, etc.

We worked 9 hours in the service to sometimes get 30 min or an hour for lunch. I was usually at work early and stayed late because I was normally doing the work of two or three people due to manpower issues.

If you work 9-5, you aren't "working" 40 hrs a week.

The dear leader also lowered the full-time definition to 30 hrs so more benefits would have to be given to folks who didn't earn them. Of course a lot of business owners probably cut those folks hours to 29 hrs per week.
