Yeah I don't either. Just weird how we bitch about an ebt card buying a Hershey bar and turning a blind eye to a billion rolling to Afghanistan or wherever

It's true. We pay billions for access to regional locations. And they pay Washington back with sweet deals for defense and infrastructure contracts. Ever wonder why soo many politicians and their families are on boards of directors for contractors selling to foreign governments.

Foreign aid/military aid pales in comparison to fraud and waste in entitlements. Medicare and Medicaid payout like 200 billion ever year in fraudulent claims. Social security/disability is probably similar.

I'm against all foreign aid & all welfare (except temporary unemployment & legitimate disability). We shouldn't be spending a dime on foreign countries when there are people that have contributed to this country still in need. The amount of money we waste is obscene.

I do agree that we should put some severe constraints on who gets it. There absolutely needs to be some real commitment that their culture is compatible with wester civilization, and that there be a legitimate government in place that uses the aid wisely rather than it just going into some satrap''s personal personal golden parachute.
And there should be some iron-clad alliances that go with it. If you play footsie with any of the world's hostile regime, then look to them for all your $$$.
But the flip side of this OP is that we should divert that money to more welfare is totally ridiculous. What we need is to limit welfare to true hardship cases - with strict limits on time and requirement for self-betterment. Or else let their asses starve.
There should be zero $$ doled out for luxury items, or for expensive comfort food. Welfare should be limited to basic staples = flour, canned vegetables, cheese, canned meats, available fruits, and powdered milk. And there should be some degree of shame associated with receiving your sustenance from the public trough. IT should be so uncomfortable, that you will expend extra effort to get yourself off it and certainly not groom your progeny to live their lives on welfare.
Hunger is a great motivator = let's find out what jobs '"Americans just won't do."

I don't have a problem with helping people when they ACTUALLY NEED IT and use it properly to help them in a hard time and to get back on their own feet and be self supporting again...
the problem with the welfare system are all the leeches that can work but refuse to to stay on the government tit...IMO that is the same as stealing...

Cut it all across to the bone. Everything from foreign aid to military spending and welfare. Unless it is essential to National Security or Public Safety slash it all. We need to get our debt under control.

......then why can't our government give every American a fully funded Individual Retirement Account? We gave Goldman Sachs et al billions.....believe it was called TARP. This government leaks money to special interest like a broken main water line in NYC (which happens quite often I understand).
Incidently I believe our pal Henry Paulson (former Goldman Sachs crook) and Treasury Secretary under GWBII) came out in opposition to the election of DJT. That says it all right there.
