Sounds about right.
Vanity Fair writes an article opening with praise for the Times recent work and then focuses on the internal restructuring that is creating a lot of internal debate on either side, and TD posts the Newsmax version, hiding the link, which leaves out quite a bit of necessary context. Compounded by only clipping part of the Newsmax article.

I guess laying off a ton of people and putting in a pay wall to save your paper as ad revenue declines is just "internal restructuring".

I have no idea if its really true. I googled his salary and that was the highest number that popped up. Regardless, he's not worth any money.
