You need to ask what you can do for your country, and I don't think you feel that tug very strongly. I doubt if you can even identify such an impulse.

I can't do that because -my- mother would freak. That part of my make up is not likely to change although my mother passed in 2010.

I'm 63 years old now, and served in My Beloved Corps from 71 to 75. Every year I see the Commandant's Birthday Message, it motivates the hell out of me, and makes me wish I could do it all over again. Those damn Drill Instructors were right, that we'll be Marines until the day we die. Best Marine Corps quote ever: "There's only 2 kinds of people that understand Marines. The enemy, and fellow Marines. Everyone else has a secondhand opinion."
