so I had this little rapid heart beat thingy and had to go to the ER....have a little super vascular tachycardia something, no big deal....but I go to apply for Health Insurance, mine lapsed about 8 months ago....never use it.
I pick a plan that was about $430/month I get rejected..they tell me to call the government high risk line
They say I have 2 options:
State Option: 850/month....90 day wait period, have to pay first $500 deductible before coverage starts, yearly cap of 75,000
Federal option: $260/month, $25 doctor visits, instant coverage, no annual or lifetime cap
So all you have to do is have a letter rejecting Health care coverage from any Health Insurance provider in the last 12 month, and not have Insurance in the past 6 months and you can get this program. LINK
What are the drawbacks to this PCIP program?
Beginning February 16, 2013, the federally-run Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan (PCIP) is suspending acceptance of new enrollment applications until further notice.
well got in just in time
State-based PCIPs may continue accepting enrollment applications through March 2, and will then suspend acceptance of new enrollment applications until further notice
