Up Coming Midterms and the BR Flood

Has anyone seen any physical changes that could help with better drainage to prevent another flood? Have any substantial projects begun? I feel like the only thing that is happening is more and more mandates to the people. You have to raise your house now if you want insurance instead of providing drainage canals. It is one constant shite show after another.
Red Snapper Season still a full on shite Show!
Voted Republican in Last election. Will vote for Trump again but as far as Cassidy and Graves, Prolly not going to happen. Anyone else fell like this?

Comite diversion has been in the works for decades but is stalled by government bullshite. Looking at you Corps of Engineers. Other than that, I know there's discussion of clearing Amite tributaries of trash that can impede flow.
Other than that stuff, there's not a ton they can do. Stop letting houses be built on slabs above grade near flood zones. Buy out and demolish homes that cronically flood and let that land flood.
Drainage projects in Baton Rouge can only help if they drain the area faster and have less water to back up. Once the Amite is higher than the outlet, you're fighting laws of physics.

There is no drainage system that can handle 30+ inches of rain in 36 hours.
