She is also a black female.

She is also being hired from her position as a deputy chief from f'ing Detroit.

Yes.

Detroit.

Apparently, the state of Texas which has 27 million residents needed to go scour the underlings of the Detroit PD that oversees a third world city for a suitable candidate.

I'm sure this will turn out well.

We need someone from Dallas to chime in. My impression is that City limit Dallas is ran by loons and the metro is suburbs that are not hearing all this and City Dallas is nuts.

The question stands:

Why hire a deputy chief from a hell hole in the North to run the Dallas PD?

The Dallas County sheriff is a female Hispanic lesbian. She might even have a slight limp.

Certainly, Detroit has a long way to go but it was one of the few major cities in the US to see a decline in violent crime in 2016. Also, just completed their fiscal year with a $63 million surplus.

Don't they have a conservator? They were forced to have a surplus, no?

Well yeah. When everyone worth robbing moves out...

...there's not as many people to attack or do the attacking. It's still in the top 10 for most violent cities in the country despite seeing its population drop by at least half since 1980. Still, housing prices have seen an incredible 20%+ increase over the last year.

Well look at all of the crimes Axel Foley solved in Beverly Hills, and he was on vacation.
