She said the school is charging the institute more than $10,000 to rent the facility and to provide security inside its performing arts center, and that additional security costs would be borne by the university.

“Since safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus is the university’s top priority, UF will end up paying at least $500,000 to enhance security on campus and in the city of Gainesville,” Sikes said.

“This includes costs from the University of Florida Police Department, Gainesville Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Florida Highway Patrol and other agencies who are providing first responders.”

Remind me, wasn’t “Don’t taze me bro!” at their campus?

Yes. And his request was denied.

Man that is pricey.

I'm all about free speech and all, but when is the tipping point come in? These PUBLIC universities can't continue to shoulder this monetary burden.

Bingo.

That's what the Left wants

I'm serious, what is the answer to this? A free-for-all, deal-with-it kind of situation? Then there is liability to the university if no security is provided.

Certainly a tough spot for them.

The problem typically isn’t the speakers but the protesters who show up to start shite.

Make them post a security bond which they forfeit if they riot.

Agreed but the problem is still there.

Just like BLM who is a ghost entity, they aren't applying for shite in terms of permitting leading to no security bond. They just claim to be random citizens who dislike the speakers. That is their loophole.

I know this line of questioning is rather silly and probably doesn't merit much discussion, but it does continue to be problematic for these universities and security in general.

The money is providing for jobs. Why are conservatives upset about this?

If they aren’t an official entity and try to show up and protest, they should be told to disperse. If they don’t, open up with tear gas.

“Random citizens” don’t show up for this shite wearing masks, gas masks, and carrying clubs.

Teke, you don't have to be part of a "group" to protest.

Trust me, we're on the same page. I'm speaking in terms of who they would claim to be, not who we know they are.

I don't even think Shapiro is worth $500,000 in security.

Why don't they just Skype him in? He can tailor his message to the audience and save a fortune on security.

Not Spencer's fault, it's the thugs opposing him that make it expensive.

You're going to claim Spencer as a "conservative"?

Please don't call Spencer a conservative. I say that as someone who followed him when he was unknown. He's not a conservative, and he fooled me for a long time about what he is. Well, for a little while at least.

Exactly. He's not a conservative. He is a white nationalist. He doesn't give a shite about conservative politics, he just uses them as a ruse to push his racist agenda, which he called "ethnic pride", aka "ethnic cleansing"

So he holds the same world view as Michelle Obama.."Too many white people..mostly white men in government"?

Who do you identify as alt-left parallel individuals? Which left wing group or groups?
