WASHINGTON — An Army major general has been stripped of his stars and forced out of the military after a 30-year military career because of a long extramarital affair and "swinger" lifestyle.

quote:

A demotion of three grades is unusual, and is based on Army regulations that require a three-member board to determine an officer's retirement rank when the person has been found guilty of misconduct. The board had to decide whether Haight served satisfactorily in his current rank, and if not, he could be demoted to the last rank in which his service would be considered satisfactory.

Good news for all you junior military officers out there aspiring to be battalion commanders. According to this you can have a "swinger" lifestyle and extra-marital affairs all the way up to LTC and your service is considered satisfactory!

If I would have known that when I was a company commander I would have been laying the extra—marital wood.

I'm confused why this is thier business.

A swinger lifestyle is usually consensual

he was probably taking other officers' wives. seems predatory.

dealing with such a high ranking officer, you are putting a lot of pressure on people to let their wives participate.

I'm sure adultery is against UCMJ which makes it their business.

I once had an exam question about a husband and wife engaging in mutual oral sex behind closed doors and whether or not they could be charged for Sodomy under UCMJ.

Stupid backward arse bullshite. What 2 consenting people do is no one's business.

Unless it is a tranny then the military can kick them out because they are mentally ill and shouldn't be allowed near weapons.

I've got no problem seeing this dude go down for this, but you literally just made this up in your head.

Maybe so but the rules are the rules and as long as those are the rules the leadership has to follow them.

Although it may not be anybody's business these actions show a lack of judgement and integrity both of which are paramount to being a general officer.

Many of officers, NCO's, and cadets have had their careers cut short because of actions that occurred outside of work. They usually get filed under "Conduct Unbecoming. . . "

So he can't have a consensual swinger relationship with his wife, but if you're a gay tranny gender-neutral otherkin then that's perfectly fine with the military

this is how officers get punished in the end....hit them in the wallet

I personally know a 1 Star who ended up on the retired list as a Lieutenant Colonel....

Based on some stories I've heard from drinking buddies over the years, I guess it's best that enlisteds aren't held to the same standards. Or maybe they just know how to play the game.
