Trump admonishes GOP to "Go Nuclear" if the mean old Dems stonewall his Supreme court nominee.
Ha ha. Merrick says hi.
For those not following the game closely, the Dems can stonewall a supreme court nominee because the GOP will need 60 and they don't have the votes.
GOP refused to even consider Obama nominee Merrick for a year.

So do you know how long it has been since an outgoing Pres. was allowed to make a Supreme Ct appointment during and election year? 80 got damn years so frick all this Merrick Garland crap. Besides why didnt the Dems go to the mattresses over Garland at the time?

SFP stated in another thread that this nominee is getting tons of support from judiciaries on both sides of the aisle. Going nuclear would be a dumb move. Letting the DEMs wither on the vine in the process of obstruction would be infinitely more effective.

they should go along on this one. trading the Scalia spot is not a big deal, and the fact that he got 96-0 confirmation ot the last level, this inst a good one to fight. With 1 -3 more justices possibly being replaced, then they might want to use the tactic on an unfavorable or USSC balancing tipping nomination. Otherwise, they play into the hands of Reps, who can then nominate a polarizing candidate like Cruz, and say, see all dems do is block...

Um maybe youre not aware that McConnel can kill the filibuster by a simple majority vote?
