President Trump's first-quarter salary donation of $78,333 will go toward preserving the Civil War battlefield at Antietam, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke announced Wednesday.

"As both the secretary of the interior and a military veteran, I'm deeply honored and humbled to deliver the donation to Antietam National Battlefield on behalf of President Trump," Zinke said. "Visiting the hallowed ground the day after Independence Day is incredibly moving and it underscores the importance of why we must preserve these historic grounds.

This should be quite the trigger for the leftists.

Money is fungible. It no more went there than it went to support abortions at planned parenthood

If he wastes his own money like that, imagine what he plans for ours.

My 3x great-grandfather's left arm is buried at Antietam.

Did anyone else's folks take them to battlefields and cemeteries all the time as a kid? I remember learning so much there at places like Shiloh, Chickamauga, Gettysburg, Antietam, etc.,

I know right? Making fun of the king of fake news is such a melt.

I'll get off your lawn, though. You seem pretty angry these days.

Just got back Sunday from taking two of the grandkids on a three day expedition to Lookout Mountain and Chickmauga. Very moving experience, especially since my wife's gggrandfather fought there and was wounded at Lookout Mountain.

The 1st Texas Regiment advancing through Miller's Cornfield at the Battle of Sharpsburg.

Gen. Lee inspecting Gordon's Alabama Regiment at the Sunken Road

The Battlefield at Sharpsburg is pristine, probably the most pristine of all of the NMP's. Beautiful area. Bloodiest day in American history. 22,717 dead, wounded or missing.

I can't really criticize him since he's donating his own salary but, it checks out that something like this would be his cause of choice.
