It's because consumer cell phones are huge security risks and easily hackable and eavesdropped on. If you had a problem with Hillary using a private email server, then you have to have the same problem as Trump using a private cell phone.

Being as the FBI had such a bad time trying to hack an iPhone, it's probably okay.

actually it's fairly easy. I work in the mobile app industry. There's multiple points of failure where the cell phone can be hacked, where the phone doesn't even have to be accessed, (the wifi server, the app server depending what messaging service Trump uses, the cell phone network... etc) The problem with the San Bernidino cell phone, was that the only places that the messages resided at the time, was on the phone and on Apple's netowrk, and Apple wasn't cooperative, so they had to access the messages on the physical phone. Here the phone is in danger of being hacked during transmission, which is much more easily done. If you complained about Hillary's email server, you cannot find Trump's use of a private cell phone as being kosher.

Trump's iPhone is a phone that has been modified by NSA to be secure. In other words, stripped bare and routed through DoD servers for security. It's the same thing that Obama had done with his Blackberry (as you noted).
So, I ask, why is this news?

In fact, being in the cell phone software industry, I would love to read more about what step he has taken to secure his cell phone. So if you can link your sources I would be very interested. I highly suspect his cell phone is secure, considering he is using Twitter. No secure cell phone would allow a 3rd party app like twitter to be installed on it.
