I mean no shite Trump is not a good public speaker with all the oratory skills of Reagan and Obama but even when he still fumbles a statement, you can still understand what he said and that context is everything.
Just chalk it up to a case of the autism coming out of the woodworks there.

I quoted the title of the article. It’s what he said.
He also said “but when it happens it still hurts”.
Here’s what you do:
You call. You thank them for their service, their sacrifice, and whatever specific details of their bravery can safely be disclosed. You offer condolences, you offer whatever comfort you can, and you listen to whatever they have to say. Then you get off the phone.
You don’t say “he knew what he signed up for” at any point in there. It’s not hard to not say stuff. Making those calls is difficult. It’s not difficult to not use the MOST classic line idiots use to dismiss dead soldiers.

Yeah, Trump really just had an urge to call up the widow and be a dick to her
You frickers outrage about everything he does. He's got you so mind fricked your minds are pretty much fried.

You are fake news buddy.
You're going off what some Miami Democrat claims she overheard.
Sad!

FT shut the frick up. This thread is stupid and you're stupid for making it. Let's not pretend for a second you actually give a shite about what Trump said to that guy's parents past being able to attack Trump with it.

Oh I'm sure it was harsh, brash, cold as hell. You fricks fall for this BS every fricking time only to vanish when the truth comes out. I guarantee those seven words were taken out of the middle of a conversation...and away we go. What difference does it make...amiright? This is the liberal media's new attempt at trying to stir up more BS. The liberals are at an all time low at every facet, and they refuse to touch any of the scandals, but this...this is worse than a bunch of libs raping girls.

You know how to do this because of what? Listen dude you are speaking straight out of your arse. I have had to say “on behalf of a grateful nation....” as I handed over the flag that had been draped on his casket to his mother and fiancé of my friend/next door neighbor. Until you have have had to do that I would say you haven’t a fricking clue what needs to be said in this situation. Now go frick yourself with a splintery 2X4 to creepy piece of shite.

Obama? A quote from Obama would include three references to himself and only made possible by teleprompter. Obama

Why do you Dems feel the need to lie and take things out of context?

Only if your a Trump hating libtard.
I would look at Trump's patriotism and assume he was acknowledging the dead man's bravery in volunteering despite the real possibility of death by special forces.
Then like a dishonest SJW you cut out his next words that indicate the pain the family is undergoing.
Reading the whole article indicates rampant anti Trump biased by the "journalist".
You either fell for this crappy example of fake news, or you are a vulture feasting on the dead man and the pain of his family to push your reprehensible political agenda.
That would be indefensible, and frick anyone who would stoop to those immoral and evil levels.

Teleprompter or not, the guy could give a speech.

I’d like to think I don’t need to preface anything with an “even though I can’t stand the president,” but this seems like a cheap political shot. It was honestly probably more along the lines of “your husband went bravely into this situation. He knew what he signed up for and did it anyway.” I wouldn’t advise releasing these recorded calls on account of what the families suffer, but someone should clarify. I honestly won’t buy that he’s that callous or cynical.
agreed
terrible phrasing to a widow, but i believe his heart was in the right place. words not so much

Aren't you tired of losing yet?
Losing what? I said the guy speaks poorly at times. That's the consensus of everyone for the most part. I said it was taken out of context. It was. I said the "he's right" defense will soon surface. And someone sure as hell did whne he quickly stated "is he wrong"?

So, you're saying that people that sign up for a voluntary military duty don't understand that there is the possibility they may be placed in harm's way?
This attempt is sadder than most

This is one of many reasons I think Trump is poorly suited for the Presidency.
I don't think he cares about this stuff (the lives of others), nor does he have the ability to properly convey the kindness and compassion you'd like to see from a leader in that situation.
But, I don't think he was crass or rude. I just don't think he has the ability to come across as very genuine in a situation like that. If the Dem congresswoman got the widow's comments wrong, I hope she gets crucified (she won't).

My issue with it is it’s the specific phrase you hear from from far left idiots (who I can’t stand) to diminish police and members of the military killed in the line of duty.
It’s the exact phrase you don’t use, because everyone knows it means you don’t give a shite, and it’s used almost exclusively to let someone know you don’t give a shite.

Spare us the feigned outrage. This sounds political and out of context. The quote is from the family member and her politics (I would bet good money) are tainted a certain way. So it is a cheap gotcha.
