Trump to pull US out of Paris climate deal: reports

President Trump will pull the United States out of the Paris climate change agreement, Axios reported Wednesday.
The report, citing two sources with “direct knowledge,” said Trump is working with a group led by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) chief Scott Pruitt on the exact mechanism of pulling out before announcing his final decision. CBS News also reported that Trump is telling allies about his decision.
The move marks a dramatic departure from the Obama administration, which was instrumental in crafting the deal. It also makes the U.S. an outlier among the world's nations, nearly all of whom support the climate change accord.

But the UN said some other country would take our place?

The agreement was reached by nearly 200 countries in 2015, the first global climate accord to include that many nations. Each country made its own non-binding pledges to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
Talking about empty promises. This is just another global initiative that the little countries know that the big countries will finance. What a crock of shite.

Is this good or bad? I don't know enough about the deal to really have an opinion.

The deal itself really doesn't do much. It's mostly symbolic. Pulling out of it just makes us look like assholes. That's up to you whether that's good or bad.

Then why pull out? Makes no sense except to satisfy to people who know nothing about the agreement but just heard Trump say that he'd pull out during the campaign.
I mean, 195 countries signed it. Just makes us look like jackasses.

Put me down for not giving a frick how it makes us look.

All the other nations had to do was agree to pay their fair share for NATO and make some back payments and I bet Trump would've stayed in.

Glad trump stands up to the "climate" mafia. Do people still believe that there's a big bubble around the earth holding the air in and that driving cars is gonna pop it?

Against the wishes of Tillerson and American energy businesses. Yay, make America great again.

Good. That non-binding treaty was a first step to get first world countries on the path to global cap and trade. Cap and trade is nothing more than global redistribution of wealth, which is the end goal of man made up AGW

Is this good or bad?
The list of countries that did not sign the deal:
Nicaragua
Syria
USA
I worry about countries passing us in regards to scientific advancements and jobs and stuff because of it. I worry that we are going to be surpassed by China, EU, Japan, etc. I worry about possible tariffs, sanctions, and carbon taxes against us. None of this could happen obviously, but it's possible.
Why not sign a non-binding agreement anyways? Even North Korea signed it...

Then why pull out?
Money. Why invest in a money pit that has no concrete foundation of seriousness, just hopeful innuendo?

But it is non-binding. We don't have to spend any money on it.

Good. it's nothing but a ponzi scheme.

This is Trump wagging his dick at the EU and letting them know there's a new sheriff in town.

This sounds like a trap to me. Trump said he wouldn't decide until the end of the week. We may have found some new leakers.
