They used metric system to get to the moon

The USA is not beholding to Australia, Europe or any other foreign entity.
I could care less who Australians voted for so why worry if they do not agree with your choice of candidates.
Everything in Australia is upside down anyway, right?

Wrong. I work with NASA on the ISS. NASA has only used the metric system since 1990.

I mean the main source of American news overseas comes from CNN international. I (being Australian) tried to explain how ridiculously biased CNN is to my Grandmother (who lives in Melbourne), but she (along with so many others) just choose to believe CNN's portrayal of Trump being literally Hitler. But honestly, it doesnt matter who we elect. Most of the world will continue to hate us no matter what because they envy what we have.

Goes to show you how good of a country the U.S. is. People care so much about us, but I bet not even 20% of Americans can name the current Austrailian president. This could also be looked at as the U.S. keeping in its' own bubble.
ETA: name this prime minister* F'me

the usual stuff: jobs back in America, securing our border, fricking DC and the liberal elites over who do not represent America. I told the Norwegians that they and the rest of Europe need to start contributing to their own security and not just relying on us. I told them all the usual reasons for voting for trump, including the fact that Hillary was a HUGE LIAR and doesn't care about the average citizen.

Tonight I was asked 7 times who I voted for. 7 times I answered Donald J Trump. All 7 times I was requested to explain myself, and I would say 3/7 understood where I was coming from.
PS- The correct answer is Malcolm Turnbull. No kidding! That's his name.

Ironic statement is ironic.

I'm also living in Brisbane and I get asked this shite at least twice a week at my bar. People can't grasp the fact that Trump has my support. The media/news outlets here don't help as well. They are force fed regurgitated CNN/ liberal slanted bullshite thru SBS and ABC ( channel 7 and 9 are both horrid)

Whenever I go travel abroad these are the same things that are brought up. I've got to head to germany in a few weeks and I'm curious to talk with co-workers over there after recent events. Sidenote: Where are you studying in Brizzie? The australians I met at uni of queensland seemed pretty conservative

Here's a test: what is the capital of Australia?
No cheating, no googling....

Australia does not have a president. Australia has a Governor General (the representative for the Queen): Sir Peter Cosgrove, as well as a Prime Minister: The Honorable Malcolm Turnbull.

Yea I wouldn't bitch about the metric system. If you're doing complex calculations it's much easier to use and seamless conversions. That's one of the few international things I would adopt if I had my way
Edit: also lowered drinking ages and drinking practices

I'm actually a fan of his advocacy for republicanism in Australia. There is literally no reason to remain as a constitutional monarchy. But i will admit, i dont know a whole lot else about his politics.

Australia is like the United States....get out of urban Brisbane into the country towns, and you'll see more people who like Trump. Queensland is like the California of Australia anyway.
