The Paris Agreement was little more than warm, fuzzy feelings on paper. It had no penalties and no enforcement mechanism. Just like the Bowe Bergdahl release and the Iran nuclear deal, this was another horrible deal the previous President pushed us into for no more reason than to appease those who don't look below the surface of an issue.

I have three comments on the implications of this Trump move:

1. He is now officially the leader of the free STUPID world isolating the US.

2. Renewable / Smart Energy is a massive economic industrial growth engine, and Trump is a fossil fuel dinasor with real short term views, and the world (including China and India and of couarse Europe) will out-flank us on green energy and make all the money. It is like deciding to not get on board with the Internet. Also, we have transferred 10's of trillions of our wealth to the Middle East, Russia, Africa and other countries over the decades. Of course, we can frack our way into some fossil independence and augment this will Canadian heavy oil flowing down the Keystone.

3. Pollution is rampart, and we need to be part of the smart world initiative that collaboratively really tries to not poison our planet. Any ideas from you Trumpers on why the BR to NO Corridor has the highest cancer rates in the US?

I am embarrassed again by our shallow president.

what does any of this have to do w Paris, Paris was meaningless and if it did anything it hamstrung innovation. Innovation that makes green energy more prevalent will not come from a garage. It will come from the energy companies here in the US that are supported by the American people

Link? Show me the jobs saved?

It's ironic that person who ran on making America great seems to be acting in a way that consigns the future to China.

Development and implementation of economical renewable/smart energy is not going to slow down at all in the US because we back out of a symbolic official decree.

The us has the largest oil reserves in the world and we now have the technology to get it. Renewable energy is the most expensive energy source. When or if renewable energy ever gets cheaper than oil. We can just st wait to buy it once it is cheaper. And or steal the technology from others like the rest of the world has been doing to us for decades

Indeed. And we should focus our limited resources on combatting actual pollution which is a far greater threaat than AGW.

It's not due to CO2. And nothing in the Paris agreement will reduce the demand for the products made in the corridor.

Do you realize how close we are? We are almost there. That's why this Paris Accord stuff really doesn't bother me too much. Once renewable energy gets cheaper (and it will) basic economics will reduce our need for energy sources of the past.

Funny how Trump's Secretary of Defense, General James Mattis' opinion on climate change is that not only is it real, but it is also a national security issue. LINK

The messaging by this administration is a giant clusterfrick. Whether it be Mattis, Tillerson, Haley or Spicer, they all contradict what their boss says from time to time. Spicer, on a daily basis. Even if you voted for Trump, you must concede that he is his own worst enemy. He needs to get a Chief of Staff with some balls that can convince him to stay on script. If he wants to pass any legislation of relevance, he will listen to someone that understand politics. Spare me the draining of the Swamp bullshite, he must rely on someone with political experience.
