When, after 8 years of very health growth in stocks, we have been told that the President has nothing to do with the stock market's performance.

So, which is it?

Your side said it was going to tank with Trump's election.

So, which is it?

I mean, even CNBC has reported that the market is now excited for the pro-growth policies planned under Trump. But keep melting.

I was expecting a link to Trump taking credit for the stock market numbers.

The same people were all about the unemployment numbers until they dropped.

Trust me, if the stocks tumble in a few weeks, it will be Obama's fault. Heck, if Trump starts a war with China in 2 years that will be Obama's fault as well.

No no, you're missing the point. Nothing is Barry's fault, specifically. Did you miss that? Therefore, up to November 8, 2016, all the bad shite that happened was Bush's fault. At 2AM, November 9, 2016, the fault/credit officially passed to Trump.

Glad I could clarify.

You are--presumably obtusely--conflating two concepts. But I don't have time to explain unless you genuinely don't know.

Steady climb started in '08. It usually goes up after an election is settled but business sees Trump as being favorable to them which assists this rise.

The bad news is much useless green paper has been printed under this administration. I don't consider this a very healthy growth.

You do realize you could reverse that question, right?

I think it's the same way Trump was responsible for the stock market drop (in futures) after he was immediately elected. At least I was told he was responsible for that by CNN, ABC, NBC, NPR, CBS, etc...

Wait. So they dropped bc Trump got elected and then reached all time highs bc Obama was still in office?

The President can do little by himself to influence the economy, but his words and actions can cause temporary fluctuations in the stock market. We're seeing that now with Trump bringing business to the forefront. The trend will top off soon and start to stabilize then go back to normal.

Temporary fluctuations in the stock market are not the same as years of recession and depression or weak recovery, though.
