Trump is a war hawk...

Trump has now expanded US military presence and/or airstrikes in I believe every combat theater he inherited from Obama. Many pundits still can't recognize this. They adopted a mental model of Trump as non-interventionist and for some reason can't get this out their heads.
The populist and isolationist Trump ran into the reality of the military war complex in his first 6 months in office.

You have officially jumped the shark. Too bad that The Fonz is taken as a username here already.

If I were a Trump fan this is a pretty egregious slap in the face.
Honestly Id probably feel like a Russian hooker.

When you surround yourself with generals, it is easy to see why you would go down the hawk path.

Sorry for bringing logic to the discussion

The war was there already. The general officers are providing the advice on how to wage this war.
There's no easy answer here, that's for sure.

Trump has no body but himself vs the generals. There is no Bobby Kennedy there in the War Room.

I read this same notion in an article in Foreign Policy several weeks back and it's as unconvincing now as it was then.
Trump increased bombing against ISIS and Afghanistan, two existing war theaters in which we are combating radical Islamists of a similar stripe. So intensifying air campaigns in existing war theaters makes Trump a war hawk? Or an interventionist? That's asinine logic.
Military intervention in foreign affairs like toppling regimes and installing favored regimes is what makes one an interventionist. Trump didn't start the U.S. engagements in either Syria or Afghanistan. He also kept his word in remaining OUT of getting us in the business of overthrowing Assad. Intensifying bombing campaigns in already existing combat zones ins't "interventionist" nor does it make Trump a war hawk.
When things are viewed through the prism of "interventionism" or "isolationism" you are eliminating your critical thinking skills and dumbing down the analysis.
I'm in favor of getting out of Afghanistan, but coming into office and ratcheting up bombing of the enemy while our forces are in country and fighting an ongoing war is what any responsible Commander in Chief should do if he believes it prudent.

Reality is a whole lot different sitting in the big chair.

There is Mattis however.
Despite his previous experience as one of the greatest general officers the Marine Corps has ever known, he is far more educated than you, myself, or anyone else in Washington. I trust Secretary Mattis and his influence when it comes to defense and foreign policy.

Trump never ran on an isolationist platform

Well, we've been in Afghanistan for 16 fricking years. Whatever strategy we've been using apparently isnt finishing the job. So do you pull out completely and leave a power vacuum or commit to finishing off the enemy with the hope that the locals will be able to keep law and order when we leave? There's no easy decision to be made in Afghanistan

What's your angle Rakim? To "bring logic" means you detest being a war hawk.. so unless you associate yourself as a hypocrite you must have been campaigning for Ron or Rand Paul. If not then you are a clown and if you can read there is no rebuttal because you are smart enough to know why

Omg
You are insane or just a liar. That's like saying Trump never said "Mexico would pay for the Wall" type of delusional statement.

"My angle" is to not let politicians get away with lies even if I support them politically. Yours is one of "no principle" and allowing Trump to sell out his base. I know your M.O., you're the us vs them win no matter what but in reality you are the clown, the puppet, the one who can't critically think or move away from the group think
Oh and by the way, I voted for Rand Paul so there is your rebuttal
