All he has to do is strike the Exective Order that said federal employees (thinking Congress and perhaps others) didn't have to participate in OBama care AND made them eligible to keep getting there federal subsidy.

Ouch. They will give up their posh government insurance for Obamacare care, and have to pay for it without a subsidy.

That should get him to negotiate.

Obama executed an Executive Order that provided a path, not in the law, that allowed many government employees the right to keep their federal health insurance when they should, by law, be participating in Obama Care.

There was a big outcry when they discovered this in the law. Obama, by phone and pen, changed the law.

That's part of the Dem's philosophy, you pick and choose which laws you decide to follow. In this case it was decided Obamacare was not for them.

Wouldn't you love to see the MSM try to spin that into and unfair situation.

These people are largely very wealthy. I'm pretty sure this won't be significant leverage.

That doesn't mean they aren't cheap, and just going out to the Healthcare.gov website will give them sticker shock.

If I was a member of the media, I would ask each one of these guys, "How much are you paying in premiums, how much is your deductible, and do you think you're getting a good value for your money?"

I would love to see those guys try to spin $1200/mo premiums with $13k deductibles as a good value for insurance.

If this were true (that it isn't leverage), then it never would have been necessary to provide the exemption in the first place. It is clearly something they want.

The very few federal workers I know are/have been getting a super-sweet heart of deal when it comes to their health care insurance, thanks to you and me, the good ole taxpayers.

It has irked me to no end to useless paper-pushers in the federal government to get a gravy train of a deal while the average everyday Joe & Jane has to struggle and cut corners just to maintain their health insurance.

I hope Trump can get rid of a lot of dead-weight in the federal goobermint.

BTW, obamascam was forced through the Senate by the dems by 'reconcilation'.

I warned a lot of them that if they went that route, it could just a easily be used to repeal obama-scam.

Not their staffers. Who actually do their work

Many were quitting govt service, unless they got the waiver

It actually would not affect Schumer. They way it PPACA was written, it excluded leadership and committee staff. They have the ability to select FEHB plans still if they Senator or Congressman allows them to.

ETA: it is a great negotiating chip for the rest of the Senators though

Agree, first thing he should do is force all federal employees onto Obamacare... no more exemptions for them.

You realize it's because of the collective bargaining power of the federal government and not just he Feds paying out huge wads of cash right?
