Seems like a solid appointment. He also wants the military to get new toys and seems like part of the MIC... but whatever.

I read about him in Fiasco or "The Generals" one of those Thomas Ricks books. Don't remember if it was good or bad.

You're probably thinking of "Dereliction of Duty" which was very critical of the Vietnam-era Generals.
