Trump = MLK

Both men knew they had their work cut out for them before they started. Both knew they had to tune out the pitchforks and torches, and both knew it wasn't going to happen overnight. The cultures of the day had somewhere taken a wrong turn and needed a make-over. There are parallels between Trump's efforts to restore justice to the social and political landscape and MLK's efforts in bringing about racial equality for his people in the face of the biased political system of that era. They both took their licks in the process, but they brushed it off and persisted. Most notable is the resistance from seemingly intractable groups that opposed them, and those groups were willing to do anything to stop them. Trump and the Dems and their MLM marketing arm; MLK and the hardline racists and politicians of the day that were determined to stop him. MLK eventually changed public perception with his persistence and his bull-headed approach. He just had a head start. Patience.
