Traveling to Europe? Anyone with second thoughts

Many of people retire and then plan a trip of a lifetime to see and tour Europe. With the recent events I know quite a few parents of friends (recent retirees) that are passing on these trips because of Muzzie violence.
Anyone else hearing anything similar to this?
Also, piss on going to that Saints game in London this fall.
Not looking to hear Alla Snack Bar and get my throat slashed, run over, or blown up by some jihadist strapped with a nail/bolt bomb.
Oh and spare me, you have to live your life and you can't let them win by not doing what you want. Frick that. My arse is staying in the USA, specifically the SEC states- we haven't been infiltrated as much just yet.

I'm going to the Saints game. I'll have to modify my outfit though to something like this:

Dodging terrorist gunfire will build character. I say go for it and let the chips fall where they may.

i'm more concerned about oktoberfest tbh. That seems like an easy target. Wembley will probably have intense safety protocols.

No. I've traveled through Islamic countries without problems.

Depends where. I went to Dublin last year and it didn't really seriously occur to me. I'll be in Barcelona in about ten days and I think it's a prime city for a mega attack on a hotel or public area like the Sagrada Familia or Las Ramblas . I also don't think we are in any way insulated from the same type thing here.

I travel to Europe regularly, and wouldn't think of letting a few isolated incidents stop me. You're still far more likely to be a victim of gun violence or other violent crime here than most places in western Europe.
But if Fox's made up stories about "no go zones" keep ignorant people from going overseas and embarrassing the US, then I guess that's one silver lining.

Braver than me. I'd be so pissed if I go through life only to have it ended by some shite stain with an Allah complex.

It's not that big of a deal, honestly. I've felt more unsafe in New Orleans than I have in any of the countries I've been to. Pickpockets and other petty thieves are a bigger concern than terrorists for me when traveling.

Hell nah id love to go to Europe

I'm going to Oktoberfest later this year, pretty worried. But I still think it's safer than a night out in NOLA.
Posted on 6/3/17 at 5:39 pm to Covingtontiger77
because anywhere in europe is more dangerous than your average night in NOLA

My wife (no pics) and I are planning a trip to England for our 20th anniversary in two years. Her grandparents grew up there and she wants to see where they lived and I had kin there during the war and want to visit the airfield where they were stationed. I've long been fascinated with the history of the blitz and I'm a fan of Churchill so I want to visit those sites like the war rooms and the Imperial War Museum. We havent changed our plans.

Not worth it anymore.

Just a matter of time before they use a coordinated drone attack on some type of sporting event.

My wife may win a grant that would allow us to tour Europe for two weeks next summer. Not one bit of hesitation in going.
frick terrorists.
frick terrorists.

Nope. I was stationed over there for years and I'd go back in a heartbeat. I don't know the numbers but I'm guessing I have a better chance of getting shot over here than killed in a terrorist attack over there.

There are shootings almost every night in every major U.S. city. There was a shooting in a Lafayette movie theater. There are drunk drivers on the road everywhere.
You just have to be careful no matter where you are and know that there is always a chance for random violence.

Son in Europe now. Flying out of Frankfurt in a few days. Hope he has no trouble.
It does make me less excited to go back to Europe.
