Didn't like the Obama administration but having town hall meetings about such a controversial issue was a good thing he did. He could hear from his constituents and properly communicate his ideas.
If Trump had more personal interactions with the American people on this subject, I believe his approval rating would rise and he would become a better leader.

Isn't that what he is doing up to a point with these rallies he's having?

They gonna have a horrible time trying to defend their crap at town halls. Only what 19% of the people support their plan?

He's talking at the rallies but there isn't any discussions. No feedback from the public about what the want or need.

obama used that propaganda tour to lie repeatedly to the American people about a bill he had to know was unsustainable.

Screw communication when it's fraught with mistruths.

Trump doesn't have to emulate obama. Just repeal the damn thing.

Obama and the dimocratix didn't communicate their ideas, they spread propaganda: keep your doctor; keep your plan; $2500 reduction in premiums; no illegals; ER visits will decline; will add 400,000 jobs, etc, etc, etc.

And on top of that, they still passed that POS bill AFTER it was clear from these town halls and polls showed the people did not want it.

Be honest, you and I both know Trump doesn't know enough about this bill to champion it in public. That job should be left up to Price, etal.

1) Not all republicans are happy with Trump.
2) There is a whole spectrum of political views in each party.
3) I've explained this to you multiple times on this board but you continue to respond to me through my threads on PT.
4) Try contributing to this thread instead.
5) You are a bit creepy and your posting history towards me could be considered stalking.

But Trump could come from a truthful place and the meetings would be productive in so many ways.

well since passing your party's plan you've lost over 1000 state legislative seats, 11 governorship's 13 senate seats, 67 house seats, the house, the senate and the white house!

you see son you guys do great in polls not so much when people actually vote.

that's because polling samples of plus 10 democrat aren't really applicable in a country that looks like this:

Not if he was championing the bill coming out of the senate. He would almost have to lie to make that thing palatable.

Repeal and replace doesn't have to be simultaneous events. Repeal it now.

The next time a politician is honest about the things in a bill that will be interpreted as negative will be the first. Every politician will champion their talking points of positives but no politician has ever discussed the negatives. There are negatives associated with every bill ever proposed. They should be discussed along with the positives so that everyone has a thorough understanding of what they are voting for.

I agree. But Trump isn't a politician... he says.
I think we are all tired of politicians.
His low approval ratings aren't because he is doing everything right. Just suggesting that a town hall meeting format could win back his supporters that are unhappy and start to win over others as well.

Congress is still debating the "plan", so how does anyone know what to support?

Trump doesn't have the attention to detail nor the discipline to hold a town hall and discuss the complexities of a bill. He's just not capable of anything like that.
