A lot of people don’t realize just how much of a dangerous shithole Monroe is. For its small size, Monroe punches well above its weight in terms of shitholes.

my grandmother grew up on south grand and had a BEAUTIFUL garden in her backyard.

i went back about 5 years ago to show my wife her house and for the first time in my life i was afraid to get out of my car to walk over to the house.

it was shocking how bad a street i ran wild on in the 1970s and early 80s has become. when i would spend a week with my grandmother i'd leave at 8 in the morning and walk the levee for MILES and hit up the antique store, stop by the RC bottler & holsom bakery and buy caps for my cap gun at the Gulf station.

Damn! Monroe, LA has turned shite holier than I remember it as. Who is the Congressman over this place? Needs to be held to account.

The mayor and city council own that place.

Ehhh how are they calculating this?

My hunch tells me that city density plays a major factor in this. A shooting happens twice on the same street in little ole Anniston, AL which suddenly moves it this street to the top of the violence/capita list.

As a resident of Shelby County, TN, I am completely shocked at not one Memphis neighborhood making the top 25. Is this list legit?

I feel the same way about Jacksonville not making the list anywhere. Actually no place in Florida is on this list, wtf?

Funny they show a white dude breaking into a house! Gives a good representation for the article because we all know every neighborhood listed is those damn krackers! All the damn white on black crime is killing America! lol

Mempho not on the list. not even the intersection of Lamar and Lamar could make it.

Atlanta not on the list either.

list is bogus or based off some obscure figure: number of packs of trident stolen per capita.

Looks just like a guy who'd break into a Baltimore inner city dwelling.

i have so many good friends who stay and try to make it a better place including several on this board.

would honestly hate to see it go but they fired my best friend (VP of investor relations for like the last 20 years) because century is a shitty employer.
