Michael Tomasky used the tried and true racism card amongst other reasons the Dems have lost the south. Meanwhile the south continues to be the most diverse region in America while Tomasky belches his hate from his all white gated community. This dude is pathetic:

Ok let's deconstruct:
We have an Indian governor that won election twice. Our black mayor has been elected twice and with significant white support. My wife is Vietnamese. My children are bi-racial. My kids attend Buddhist temple and Christian Church as they like. Two of them have black best friends who constantly spend the night with us, as our kids spend the night with them. Our house frequently looks like a United Nations meeting with kids from every region of the world. 30% of my client-base is black. My family and I are treated warmly wherever we go in this State. My neighbors are of various races and we live peacefully amongst each other. We break bread several times a year with people of other races. My Conservative Fundamentalist neighbor invites us over two times a year and watches our dog when we go on vacation. We make charitable contributions to charities that overwhelmingly benefit poor blacks. Our Catholic neighbors include us in the annual bbq.
Probably 60 % of my community vote for the most Conservative member on the ballot. The other 40% probably vote for the most liberal. None of us have a problem with each other. If Micheal Tomasky were a guest in my home (he's welcome) he would feel pretty sheepish indeed as all his clichéd tantrum presumptions are entirely hyperbolic and ridiculous. He'd probably enjoy my music collection and we could talk about culture and issues like adults, and I'd tell him that disagreement on policy issues is just a fact of life, that real human beings of good will overcome every day as they choose to live peacefully amongst each other in The Deep South.
Liberal Meltdowns like this are both completely predictable and fundamentally sad. To so casually slur and caricature an entire region of people with some idiotic Democratic Underground template is a telling indication of the future of American Liberalism. It's doomed because it only leaves enough oxygen for The True Believers.

I'd also mention that the only time I have EVER lived without daily interaction with blacks has been when I lived in liberal enclaves that have priced blacks out. The correct-thinking people in liberal enclaves say all the correct Liberal Platitudes on command, as long as they aren't actually forced to live amongst their exotic, darker-skinned brethren.
