“There’s no way I could kill a healthy baby because I’m sick."

....Bridges told CBS2’s Kristine Lazar.
An Inland Empire mother made the ultimate sacrifice for her newborn daughter when she refused lifesaving treatment for bone cancer.
Ashley Bridges was 10 weeks pregnant when she learned of her diagnosis. Although doctors recommended she start chemotherapy immediately, it would have required her to terminate her pregnancy.
“There’s no way I could kill a healthy baby because I’m sick,” Bridges told CBS2’s Kristine Lazar. During her third trimester, at eight months, Bridges was told that delaying treatment had allowed the cancer to spread.
“That’s basically when they told me that it was terminal,” she said.

Not surprised this is getting only fringe news coverage.

Isn't it great in this country she was able to make that "choice".

Actually, nevermind. I spoke too quickly. Sorry.

Selfless instead of selfish.
By the way, how's your mom?

Your statement will fall on deaf ears, but I'm with you on this.

Too bad the vast majority of feminists will consider her to be a traitor to womynhood for making that "choice." (See abortion/Holocaust discussion from yesterday).

Tough choice to make when two lives are stake. Amazing sacrifice by her. But Hard to see how it's relevant to current abortion discussions when only one life is typically at stake.

That would be a tough decision to be a part of if it was my wife. I really don't have very strong opinions on abortion, kinda neutral on it.
One one hand, you abort the baby and get treatment to "hopefully" save your wife's life. She could still die from cancer and then you're left with nothing. No wife, no child. If she beats the cancer, you can possibly have another child or adopt.
On the other hand, you're basically trading your wife's life for the child.
Tough decision.

That... is what a hero is, imo. Giving up one's life for the love of another life.
Also, one of the very rare instances that the life of the mother is in play. Something that is vastly overplayed by the pro-abortion crowd.

Nice strawman/false choice.
The debate has never been about health of the mother versus the child. All reasonable people expect that the decision will be made by the mother.

Are you seriously trying to suggest that the "choice" in pro-choice has something to do with electing to keep the baby alive?

Pretty sure you can choose to have a baby in any country in the world despite medical difficulties.
