Do you think there is a correlation between the huge increase in US military involvement in the ME/Southern Asia and terrorism?

Would you become a terrorist if Russia sent forces into Florida?

Islamic terrorism has risen globally; not just against the west. No matter where you look, Islamic factions find reasons to justify violence against civilians. At some point, you have to just accept that your actions are not the motivating factor. And I'm not saying we shouldn't draw back from our perpetual war. I'm just saying their doesn't appear to be an correlative relationship.

Terrible analogy. Iraq isn't sending terrorists here.

Do you think building an air base in Saudi Arabia and bases in Iraq, Qatar, and Afghanistan made us heros of the people in those countries??

There was hardly any in the Obama Administration. Just workplace violence and reactions to our mean YouTube videos.

If they did it with our government's permission, no.

Well we seem to have a thing for removing Secular dictators (IE Iraq, Syria,Libia). while leaving religious dictators in power regardless of the situation.

Thus, this is a recipe to breed more terrorism while eliminating its political checkpoints.

I'll only speak for Iraq because I was on the ground there in the spring of 2003. Yes, at first we were very much welcomed like heroes so our mere presence wasn't considered an immediate affront by the average Iraqi on the street. It was after a series of missteps and poor decisions by the administration and people like Paul Bremer that the situation soured. Not just the fact that we were there.

Yes.

I think the rise in Islamic terror happened, and the US has attempted to address it.

Do you think Hussein kept the ISIS types under control? Do you think the Saudis were responsible for the rise of AQ? (OBL said his goal was the removal of the US airbase in SA and his family was very prominent in SA--may still be.)

No, Obama didn't control them at all.

ETA: now that I look back, you probably meant Saddam. My bad. Well yes, Saddam probably kept the ISIS types focused on the Kurds and Iranians but that didn't make him a 'good guy'.

Iran did this on their own. They were actually semi-progressive in the early 1970s.

Kind of makes you realize how fast a country (like perhaps Turkey) can change.

There were hijacings in 80s. Kidnappings and killings. Technology and social media is more to blame IMO

When U.S. troops were allowed to build up in Saudi Arabia the Radical Muslims flipped out.

Since then the U.S. has been in the M.E. and the Radical Muslims have been conducting their Terror Campaign.

I certainly don't know what the answer is,but I'm pretty sure letting them migrate across Western Europe and then to America isn't it.

We installed the Shah of Iran in the fifties using the CIA. They still hate us for that.
