Who would leak something about the Manchester attack solely to make trump's job harder?
You hate trump that much that you are willing to piss off an ally?
I have never had a lower opinion of government officials in my life. Willing to destabilize things because you are a democrat before an American servant

The really wacky thing about it is they had this whole line of attack that Trump is careless with intelligence info and just completely nuked it by being careless with intelligence info. Just goes to show they are not even being particularly methodical, it's just whatever is there that will get clicks on any given day.

I think it is one of many possibilities, and if so, it's very problematic. Unlike other potential leaks focused on exposes judgmental lapses of the administration, this one would serve no purpose but to undermine a vital relationship.
Of course, it could just easily be someone friendly to the administration, or in the administration.
I also question what the basis is for assuming CJ Chivers and others are getting this from US sources. Can UK law enforcement and intelligence not easily leak to NYT?
