Yes, I know HBCUs are a huge waste of resources and the EO was almost entirely symbolic, but on the perduasion level, it was virtuosic. Do you guys realize how many older black folk LOVE their HBCUs? There are a lot in LA that love Grambling and Southern more than just about anything, and in many other southern states it's the same story. On a persuasion level, they won't be able to help but start to like Trump a little bit just based solely on the EO.

Next, look at what the idiot Dems are doing. Going full pander mode with that embarrassing Bartles & James commercial last night with the old white people.

If you're an old fashioned black person, who are you leaning towards right now, the guy who's promising to save your beloved HBCU or the pruny white racist-looking former Kentucky governor and new face of the Dems?

TRUMP set a trap and the Dems fell right in. As many blacks as he can peel away from the Dems will pay absolute dividends.

No offense to blacks anywhere, but they are about to be backseat riders for elections to come because the money flowing in for companies like Univision, etc are working to push their agenda and it's working. It's been pretty amazing to say the least to see the progress they have made. 'Member it wasn't that long ago when Hispanics were here merely bussing tables; now they are industrialists, business owners and have TV time on several channels.

Hispanics make up 55M of our population, blacks come in at around 35M.

Side question - why aren't there Historical Hispanic CU's? Or are they just not that well known?

90% of Hispanics in America migrated here post 1970. They weren't here during Jim Crow to be discriminated against and excluded from higher education. Plus, Hispanics tend to assimilate by the third generation.

Thanks for the info Bob. I would agree that the mass migration of Hispanics has been a relatively new phenomenon - 20-30 years or so.

Either way though, blacks are being outpaced. Hispanics are graduating HS at a higher pitch than blacks; however, Hispanics are trailing blacks with college degrees 33 to 28%.

High tuition seems to be killing everyone though.

I don't think it will be that effectivemeant can come off a bit like pandering, even if it's not meant to be.

But over 80% of the HBCU's are in the states where Trump and Pence had the largest margins. Not to mention, there are 7 in the 3 or the states he had some of his largest losses (California, Illinois, New York).

Most of the swing states that have some HBCU's (Ohio, Pennsylvania), only have 2 HBCUs each with a combined enrollment of about 5,000. So those don't have the cultural impact like the ones in the southern states.

I don't think this will be a negative for Trump, but I think you are greatly overrating the impact, and most of the places where it may occur, does not give him a political advantage since they are in the reddest states.

Well HBCUs were established before 1964. In the 1960 census Hispanics accounted for 3.5% (6.3 million) of the population while blacks accounted for 11% (19.8 million).

And in the 1960's only about 3% of the population was enrolled in college at a given time, compared to >21% today. So even if Hispanics enrolled at that rate (likely lower) there would only be ~190,000 total, which would make enrollment hard to support a university.

One day soon black people and Mexicans and Asians will side with us for the big lord of the rings style showdown that will be the new crusade

The sooner everyone realizes that high level democrats are like sauroman, teaming up with the forces of darkness to destroy the good in this world and we throw off the yoke of globalism we will all live in harmony in the new third age

Trump is like Aragorn, the true king that the powers that be have tried to deny the right to rule, but he won't be silenced and will lead us to greatness

They already tossed the black voter aside to pander to the Hispanic voter due to their numbers and are starting the shift to the Islamic voter due to their even larger numbers...just have to get them into the country and hopefully convince them not to kill their existing voting base.
