Anyone heard of riots in the Southern States? We all get bashed by non-southern states about being racist, but all these cities tonight protesting are non-southern.

Do you think it's because we have learned to live with each other down here?

They kill each other in the south "becus i waz disspected", so they don't have time to riot.

I was thinking it was Mid-west. Do you really consider Missouri in the south?

I'd say the southeastern section of Missouri is southern.

Missouri is a "southern" state on just about every list you can find.

The St. Louis area, however, is very midwestern.

Looking at Baton Rouge for example, there is hardly anything to riot in the triangle where most of the black people live. Chains stay away, for sure. It's a dead zone. They bus people in to the walmart at Cortana. Sometimes you'll see 20 busses lined up at a time there.

So, they'd have to drive or take a bus to go riot which is a barrier to entry into the rioting game.

Although that's an overbroad statement, I think there is some actual truth there. At least it's true in New Orleans to a large degree. There are divisions along political/racial lines, but we work together, play together, go to school together, and pray together about as interracially as anywhere on the planet, I believe.

Seems like there were planned demonstrations in Houston and Atlanta (solely because those are such large cities) and nothing inbetween.

Missouri is as Midwest as you can get. Def not South, not even Southern Missouri. Same for Northern Arkansas.

I don't know what the South thinks (deep South) but Westerners consider Missoura - the South - "a region of the state is called Little Dixie"
