Think what we could do.... cure disease, end traffic, blah blah

Imagine if a supercomputer had the processing ability to mix facial recognition and access every online camera source globally, in real time.

Now imagine this computer had access to your browsing history, email history, texting history, voting history etc.

Is artificial intelligence or some form thereof actually going to be the antichrist?

Did you watch the tv show "Person of Interest?"

the show pretty much answers your question.

And unlike tyrannical politicians, you can't kill or imprison a tyrannical AI that has the ability to create infinite clones of itself at a rate far greater than you can destroy them.

The AC will be killed and brought back to life using AI. Trippy shite, but it'll be a good show and we'll all get our money's worth.

A fictional show answers the OP's question. Wow, I should watch that show.

I rarely watch tv. Some sports and live coverage of news events.

Right, they want to control and restrict human activity.

As I posted the other day, the image of the beast in Revelation is certainly AI. It begins as a statue looking being and is given the ability to speak and kill. Sad that most adult human beings can't read that don't understand it's a robot.

I, for one, look forward to the coming war against the machines. That has to be more interesting than more contracts to redline.

Agreed.

For many, facing certain death in the war against machines, it will be the first time they actually ever lived.

I would prefer zombie apocalypse, but machine uprising will do.

The coming robotic overlords will wipe the human race from the planet by the end of this century. We deserve it.

Revelations wasn't a prophesy, it was a commentary on the current events of the time, the Great Jewish Revolt against Rome. 666 is a reference to Nero, the emperor at the time, who was known for his cruelty. The beast with seven horns and seven stars is a reference to the City of Rome, which is built on Seven Hills. The Whore of Babylon is a reference to Nero's wife, who was Jewish, and supposedly used her powers of seduction to become Empress.
