Why is it the party of "personal responsibility" is always trying to excuse or deflect their group's behavior?

It's a cold civil war going on in this country.

Speaking of partisanship, did politico even bother to poll liberals on this issue? I think we can all guess what the results will show.

I don't know, maybe you should ask a republican that question? I was implying that the partisanship is not one-sided. Democrats would probably have an even more drastic flip/flop than did republicans.

Looking for facts and information is deflection? I already knew based upon your post history, but glad we can officially put you down as a science denier.

Yeah

They will show the same thing

Yet somehow both parties consider themselves morally superior to the other

We all know what it would show.

But I'd venture a guess that there are a number of supporters here that are genuinely surprised by the OP; surprised to see such a dramatic reversal on a position in so short a time. I think this post was simply meant to highlite the fact that republicans are, by and large, just as inconsistent and disingenuous when it comes to towing party lines as we portray democrats to be.

We all agree that democrats putting party ahead of principle is a major problem for this country. I'd assume (/hope) that it's the OP's position that republicans would be wise to correct course before we fully embrace this liberal flaw

I highly doubt anyone was really surprised. We all know that Capital Hill is a nest of hypocritical partisans who only believe what they're told to believe with only a few rare exceptions.

This really isn't fair if it doesn't include Democrats too..but I think we all know what that would show. Everyone is a fricking hypocrite these days.

I would like to point out though that while bar charts are pretty, they can be deceptive.

For example, it really doesn't take that much thought to figure out that Some in the middle in the left set were there as much for pragmatic reasons as anything.

And question formation matters.

Ie, "should he let him continue" would get different responses from "if he fired Comey, would you have a problem with it?"

Not saying hypocrisy isn't there. Merely observing its not as simple ad the graphs imply

Bc this is a thread about partisanship. Therefore it would make sense to include a poll of both parties. Otherwise, change the title to "The power of republican partisanship". This isn't complicated.

Which is precisely why they never bothered to poll dems, I suspect.
