The current outrage over Confederate statues is being used as a reminder about the tragic period of slavery in the U.S. and is just a lead up to a renewed push for reparations for all "descendants of slaves."
The only way to make amends for slavery is to pay off people who have never been slaves.

Well I've got Native American blood on both sides of the family, so where can I sign up for my reparations?

I've had nothing handed down to me from my slave holding ancestors, which makes me conclude that they had poor quality slaves. Therefore, I demand that I get reparations from the decedents of my ancestor's slaves.

There is literally no way for reparations to ever be paid. It's a great talking point, though.
I would like to see someone put forth a plan that even blacks would approve. Would be comical.

Most of all to be paid by people who were descendants of people who never owned slaves and whose families may have had members who even fought and died ending slavery.

You have it all backwards. If you claim to be part indian, and you're part of a tribe that fought against the Union, expect them to come in, take your lands, statues, and memorials, and for Antifa to visit you on the grounds that you represent a treasonous group of outlaws that fought the US and lost (no "second place" trophies for losers of wars, remember?)
If the confederates who fought the US deserve to have their monuments taken down, whats so special about the indians that essentially did the same- and lost?

More wealth was destroyed in prosecuting the civil war than was ever created by slavery.
Also more whites died ending slavery than ever owned a slave.
