Donald Trump is anything but a man of few words.

Especially on Twitter, the US president scarcely restrains himself from reacting to a range of events. In the last few days, for instance, his official Twitter handle @POTUS and personal handle @realDonaldTrump have produced the usual flurry of tweets, covering everything from fake news and the leaking of confidential information to a museum visit and shootings in Chicago.

Yet, the voluble president hasn’t uttered a word on the shooting in Kansas that killed 32-year-old Indian techie Srinivas Kuchibhotla and injured two others. Kuchibhotla and his colleague, Alok Madasani, were grabbing a beer at a bar in Olathe when they were attacked by 51-year-old Adam Purinton, who apparently mistook them for Middle Eastern men. Ian Grillot, a patron who tried to intervene, was seriously injured.

“Get out of my country,” Purinton allegedly shouted, before opening fire.

So far, the Trump administration has said precious little.

Trump’s silence is unsettling—and infuriating—for more than one reason.

By choosing not to openly condemn the attack in Kansas at a time when the US is deeply divided along racial lines, Trump risks giving the impression that he cares little for America’s influential Indian immigrants—or Indians in general.

“If the situation in Kansas were reversed, if two Indian immigrants attacked a group of white patrons to intimidate the larger community, there’s little question that Trump would respond with anger and condemnation,” Slate’s Jamelle Bouie wrote last week.

This board was wondering a few weeks before the elections why highly skilled immigrants vote Democrat, even when their economic values align well with the Republicans. Here's your answer.

The Republican party is a white man's party that will never gain the trust of the highly skilled immigrant community from countries such as India and China because of all the anti-immigrant rhetoric that has only become exponentially worse - first under Trump's campaign, and now his administration. You can bet your arse Trump would have something to say about the shootings if it were done by a Muslim immigrant.

But just like the Canadian shootings and now here in Kansas, when the perpetrator is a white nationalist type, his tongue gets tied or maybe the swype keyboard on his Android phone freezes at the exact moment he wants to tweet something about the subject (if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt). But either way the silence is palpable.

I love to bash the orange orangutan, but to be fair, Spicer did touch on the subject a bit today on behalf of the president. He also shot down anti semitic acts around the country.

Having said that, it would be nice if it came straight from the president and not his press Secretary.

Wrong: trump didn't do any worse with chinese and indian skilled immigrants than past republicans. Here's why they vote democrat

1) they are overwhelmingly located in urban population centers, and urban living is highly correlated with democratic voting. This is because since the 19th century the democratic party has been highly organized in cities and makes sure to mobilize recently arrived immigrants.

2) Skilled immigrants are largely secular, which again correlates with the Democratic party. They are not opposed to abortion, for example.

3)They are NOT fiscal conservatives like you assume in your OP. Polling data, as flawed as it is, shows that asian immigrants are among the MOST supportive of expansion of government services.

.
quote:

National surveys have shown that on issues that matter to them such as education, job creation, and health care, Asian American voters have consistently favored the Democratic Party and the positions that Democrats endorse. For example, Asian American majorities have supported steps to expand health-care access, such as the Affordable Care Act (asked in the 2012 NAAS). Asian Americans are also strong supporters of gun control (asked by AAPI Data in 2014 and 2016), and they tend to support bigger government spending even if it means paying higher taxes (asked in 2012 surveys by Pew and NAAS).

source: LINK

As a California resit, I can confidently say that trump is not the reason why they favor democrats. Trump did as well as romney if not a bit better among asian voters, according to exit polls.

The only reason that repulicans decades ago got the support of asians was because they were associated with anti-communism, and most asians-americans at the time had a red hot burning hatred of the communists who ruined their homelands. Those immigrants died out and the later generations forgot about communism and became attracted to left wing causes.

The antisemitic stuff is becoming an issue 20+ Jewish Schools and Community centers evacuated due to bomb threats 2/27

And that list doesn't include the Tucson threat this evening.

Trump might need to make a full statement and not just answer a question on this something about how "Globalist" isn't just a codeword for Judaism or how regardless of creed- Christian, Jewish, Muslim,Buddhist or Hindu we're all Americans.

You do realize there is a large anti-semitic element on the far left as well, correct? Why are you assuming this has to do with trump? What has he ever said about jews?

The new anti-Semitic stuff is the biggest load of false flag crap I've ever seen. It coincidentally started right after Trump was "mean" to a Jewish reporter which the media spins to mean Trump hates Jews. Even through Trump was the biggest Jewish loving presidential candidate in history.

Trump was mean to a Jewish reporter so the media and Progs started all these threats to make it seem like Trump caused this new rise of anti-Semitism.

It is out and out baloney. The most sure-fire way to determine if someone is truly bigoted against a group is to look at their actions in life, not their words. Trump has a jewish son-in-law, whom he talked into marrying his daughter. Said son-in-law is now a trusted advisor to the president. Trump got a higher % of the jewish vote (27%) than any republican in recent memory. His speech-writer is jewish, as well.

Not only that, but when, before he entered the political realm and became a republican, was trump EVER thought of as anti-jewish?

The guy was the grand marshal for the israel parade for crying out loud.

The left lives off identity politics. They are unable to separate actions from identity.

To the OP, remember all the times Obama spoke out directly after racial attacks on white people. I remember....

Definitely, its not nearly as ascendant as it is on the right however. For whatever reason White Nationalists have been energized and united by Trump's victory.

I'm not saying it has anything to do with Trump directly-- though much of his messaging and some of his ads lets say ran close to antisemitic tropes and frankly Bannon and Sessions are viewed by the White Nationalist/Alt-Right as homeruns fairly or unfairly.

It started well before that.

The thing is that the new anti-globalist sentiment sweeping europe and america is that jews have been strangely attracted to it.

54% of UK jews backed brexit, for example.

Jews are a part of western culture, and while it's unfortunate some turds like richard spencer take up air time, many people like joshnorris14 love jewish culture because it is absolutely western in its value systems.

Yeah, this is good. The President is the President for the masses. He shouldn't comment on individual cases. This was definitely a fault with Obama, and he stuck his foot in his mouth multiple times. Remember the beer summit, and the "if I had a son" moment when that Thug got shot beating that white Latino. Just STF up and let local Officials do their job. We definitely don't want Trump responding to every local murder or hate crime, jeez!!!

I'd wonder that myself. I'd wonder because if they are H-1B visa holders like Srinivas Kuchibhotla was, THEY ARE INELIGIBLE TO VOTE !

If they are Green Card holders, THEY ARE INELIGIBLE TO VOTE !

So yes, I guess this board would wonder why these folks were voting.
