Well, I guess the wise and righteous M Piper would throw the adulterous and murderous King David under the bus too. There is a helluva difference in the skill and character sets needed to be a Pastor, and that of POTUS...in today's world. Religious Grandstander, most likely. Trump is low hanging fruit for Preachers who want attention. He'll get his attention.

David sought repetance. Trump has not.

Your trolling really needs to get a little better...try again next time. Thanks for playing.

He ain't dead yet either.

There was a period of time between sins and repentance for old King David.

Tomorrow we will inaugurate a man to the presidency of the United States who is morally unqualified to be there

And also every one of them before him. Even ole Jimmah Carter had lust in his heart. Told that to Playboy magazine, in fact
quote:

"I try not to commit a deliberate sin. I recognize that I'm going to do it anyhow, because I'm human and I'm tempted. And Christ set some almost impossible standards for us. Christ said, 'I tell you that anyone who looks on a woman with lust has in his heart already committed adultery.' "I've looked on a lot of women with lust. I've committed adultery in my heart many times. This is something that God recognizes I will do--and I have done it"

We all all sinners before God, so ole preacher boy needs to come down off his high horse. He is in no position to judge or hes got some splinin' to do about this one:
quote:

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

The current left has a lot in common with the 1990s moral majority movement

Actually he did. But that's a personal matter, and not for public consumption

Trump got a higher percentage of evangelical vote than romney and mccain

Folks at my church were overwhelmingly pleased with the result of the election. I've heard about church groups from several places headed to the inauguration to show support for Trump.

John Piper is a heavyweight in the evangelical world, that's not some random fricknut.

John piper believes in a lot of things that most evangelicals don't believe.

Like predestination.

It is amusing seeing people attack the evangelical right considering without their vote, trump gets massacred.

All of my evangelical friends have been sharing this article and saying how dumb it is. We don't have to agree with everything he says anyway.

There's no way you can believe in Jesus and not follow trump. Trump is the most Christian president we've had since Reagan

These people should have their preaching licenses pulled

The only thing needed to get their vote is an "R" beside your name. Trump was getting their vote as soon as he was nominated.

My interpretation of that is...

He's really glad Trump won, and he needs to reconcile Trump's "questionable morals" so that he can move on and enjoy this administration. Nothing more than that.

That's my Southern Baptist interpretation.

White evangelicals voted at the same rate in 2012 that they did in 2016.

Read Isaiah 45.
God chose Cyrus to lead according to his wishes.
Cyrus did not know God, but God girded him.
He was anointed by God to lead, to subdue nations before him.

The 45th POTUS, Donald J Trump.

That isn't what I take of it at all. He said "he is morally unfit to lead our nation" then lists why then basically said to trust in God/salvation. I don't think he is going to be enjoying shite based on the article?

It almost seems like an attempt to get some of the sjw, perpetually offended, left leaning christians, and never trumpers to rally around their precieved Trump illegitimacy and instead focus on the chuch/salvation

While I disagree with a few of his points, I took the article as, "America has elected an immoral man. Let's not throw fits and weep and mourn. let's set about bringing God glory."

While I'm more OK with Trump's election than he is, he's right.

Many, many people I know were not going to vote for him before he released his short list for the Supreme Court. Most of those are what you would consider to be "evangelical."
