Trump gets the credit for these 700 jobs. Will he follow through with his campaign pledge to slap a 35% tariff on Carrier products within 100 days of January 20th? That is the proof that I will need....and I will give him 3.5 years to do so....
What I think will happen is he will claim to have re-negotiated NAFTA in better terms for US workers. There will be abundant evidence that this is not true but he will get the credit. When the middle class sees NO change in our status over the next 8-10 years and continues to see our numbers decline we will realize that we were once again duped and will seek comfort elsewhere.
There are only a couple of ways this ends....either Trump is true to his word (doubtful) and indeed does make the middle class great again by protecting US Jobs at all costs OR he does not (more likely) and the awoken middle class demands more of their elected officials. Either way conservatism has been soundly defeated in the United States....the Reagan Revolution is done and dead and thank god. We aren't living in a workers paradise just yet but we have removed a HUGE obstacle in the way that was the Reagan Revolution! Viva La Trump!!!

Well, let's go ahead and agree on which metrics we will judge that by right now so that we are not cherry picking data to suit our agenda in 3.5 years. It's the only way to be fair.
