Visited at the beginning of the year. Such a sad situation there. Children being abandoned because their parents can't find food.

I don't understand how in a country like this, that there aren't vast medical problems upon millions of people.

There are. I posted an article about that months ago. It's not just a lack of medicine and instruments. One doctor said infection was spreading because there were shortages of soap and water for doctors to wash up between patients.

Let's take it a step further. All of this malnutrition has got to be affecting what productivity there is, and the health of the army (unless the government and the army are being treated well).

To be brutally frank, vast medical problems in these situations tend to diminish in quantity with the passage of time.
