Of course he is, otherwise he'd not have any shot at Adelson money.

He's an interesting guy. Incredibly intelligent, but pretty self-absorbed. Can't say I agree with any of his ideology, but he's an interesting guy.

Wow.

Cruz probably thought he was serving up some red meat, but obviously not all Christian groups are interested in being Israel's bitch.

Cruz immediately went on the usual neo-con attack that I see here directed at anyone questioning our complete loyalty to Israel: "They hate Jews"

I just applauded him a few weeks ago when he & Rand Paul were 2 of the only(or very few) Republicans criticizing the Police State/Tactics in Ferguson.

A neo con?

OMG!! Not a neo-con. Anything but that!

Just so I know are there any paleo-cons? If so who are they?

Not at all. I think it's been pretty well-known to most of the nation for a few years.

Cruz is an ignorant fool if he really believes this nonsense.

quote:

I told the attendees that those who hate Israel also hate America," Cruz said. "That those who hate Jews also hate Christians. And that anyone who hates Israel and the Jewish people is not following the teachings of Christ. These statements were met with angry boos. I went on to tell the crowd that Christians in the Middle East have no better friend than Israel. That Christians can practice their faith free of persecution in Israel. And that ISIS, al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah, along with their state sponsors in Syria and Iran, are all part of the same cancer, murdering Christians and Jews alike. Hate is hate, and murder is murder."

Mideast Christians hate Israel in general, and Likud in particular. Nor do Mideast Christians hate all of the Islamist groups that he mentioned. There's no doubt that ISIS fits all the worst stereotypes of Islamic extremism and intolerance, but on the other end of the spectrum is Hezbollah, while all the other Islamic groups fall somewhere in between. As a matter of fact, if there were an election held in the Mideast, and the choices were Likud and Hezbollah, Hezboolah would garner a greater share of the Chrisitan vote than Obama got of the Black vote in 2008. Hezbollah is even more tolerant of Jews than Likud is of Christians, not to mention Muslims. Can anyone imagine Netanyahu support building a Mosque in Tel Aviv?

Members of the JDP, etc. would certainly chuckle at that.

Is being a neo-con better or worse than being a chicken hawk or sheeple?
I want to get my trite buzz words right.
