When are we, as American citizens, finally gonna have enough of the bull shite and take a stand?
this is sooo fricking stupid and such a waste of time and resources. No telling how much money was wasted to confiscate some buleberry trees.

When Honey Boo Boo, American Idol, etc. go off the air.

People are too preoccupied with this and other BS to stand up for this country. We are literally being robbed blind and few notice. The sad thing is we have a lot of responsible folks in this country who are paying for this BS to go on, but they are too busy earning a living and taking care of their families to take time out and call BS on the government.

I've said it a million times, the politicians worst nightmare is a protest of white/blue collar workers at 2:30 on a work day.

This kind of thing has roots in the mentality of some people on the local level who don't like the appearance of someone or something, or merely don't like them.

They may or may not have a friend who works within "code enforcement" but they report "suspicion" of something more serious to bring out the police.

When the police fail to find anything illegal, they go overboard with the code violations until they can either destroy the people financially or force them to leave. It's fairly common practice and needs to stop.

The police seized "17 blackberry bushes, 15 okra plants, 14 tomatillo plants ... native grasses and sunflowers," after holding residents inside at gunpoint for at least a half-hour, property owner Shellie Smith said in a statement. The raid lasted about 10 hours, she said.

This is from the onion, correct?

The main problem is most of us won't experience what happened to these people...this seems most often to happen to lower income people or people living on the fringes of society...I currently have no fear of what happened to these people happening to me. However, they are the canaries in the coal mine...they warn us of the expansion of and militarization of police forces across the country...The problem with government isn't just Federal, it is and can largely be a local problem. So we have to find a way to make people notice and care about the police brutality inflicted on the less fortunate.

This is true but it can also emanate from a disturbed ex-wife or husband who's out to destroy their former spouse and doing it through a "proxy" participant (friend). Income makes no difference. And it doesn't really matter if their accusations are true.

Sure, but, come on dude, that's not a common experience for the vast majority of folks...it is a fringy situation.

True. Most people aren't that insanely vindictive, whatever the income.

Good analogy.

Once again the police thinking they have the right to duck with anyone. Hell they got 2 innocent people killed by rushing that bank the other night. I'm sure we won't hear the truth bout why they did,but I have family there and I was told that they didn't have to go when they did. And I just hate it for the cops cause now they can't get on TV slapping each other on the back saying what a great job they did. Truth be told, someone should be losing their job.
If you can't tell,I've really come to hate the police. I've started really looking at these yahoo's and have come to realize that if they weren't cops the majority of them probably would be Wal mart stock boys.

I don't know what the police did wrong. They performed a legal search, blame the laws that got them the warrant.

Also Cops get sued all the time. Like every one at least once gets sued in civil court.

There was a report on Stossel about 2 months ago and SWAT/Military style police raids have gone up from around 3,000 year in the early 80's to over 80,000 a year now.

If I were the judge who signed the search warrant that resulted in this raid I would be extremely pissed off at the police. In order to restore any confidence that they understand the concept of probable cause they would have to proceed with criminal charges against the informants who falsely accused their neighbors. Otherwise I would be hesitant to sign another warrant based on informant accusations.

Completely agree. I hate the cops and have zero respect for any one of them. They are just thugs with badges that are out to harass, ticket and in seemly higher number murder without repercussions.

They don't give two fricks about "public safety" or "protecting and serving". They just want to frick with people because the state sanctions it and they can get away with it.

sure but without tyrannical cops, who would enforce the rules in the Utopia of Reason you quote in your sig?
