There's no way that figure can be correct. Sprocket told us 2 months ago they already had 18,000 signatures back then but were waiting to get 20,000 before they submitted the petition. Rainey must be lying because Sprocket is never wrong. If you don't think so just ask him....

So what happens if they get 18k? Is that significant?

The incorporation gets to be put on the ballot to be voted on during elections.

I don't remember posting that but it seems now it was true.

They need to get 25% of the registered voters in the area asking to be incorporated.

I doubt the number is an even 18,000 but it could be. They just used 18,000 as an estimate.

Hopefully they get 25% CERTIFIED soon, I think the bad guys are pulling out all stops to stop the movement any way they can including annexing pasture land which in the entire scheme of things is inconsequential but is a public relations ploy.

I'd say 94.4% of the way there is pretty close. 85% of the way to 20,000 votes really isn't that bad. It's less than they were saying they would have by this point, but's not exactly super far off.

Still, Rainey said, "it hasn't slowed. It's just taking us longer than we anticipated."

I'm gonna assume he meant "hasn't stopped". Clearly its slower now. Still going is what matters!
