That's the reason its in a lock box with a key and no one is allowed to see it

It's a bill written by the Chamber of Commerce, insurance companies and other cronies who own the GOP politicians

They don't want anyone to see it because there will be outcry from their own base.

It's a bill that will frick over the American People and reward their cronies and overlord masters.

GOP are worthless shitheads. I hate them more than the democrats. At least the democrats are honest about their intentions

This isn't a spoiler.

Rand already said this yesterday.

I don't like the secrecy either, but since you do not know what is in it you can't make legit criticisms...yet.

I think the fact that we aren't privvy to the content is enough to warrant 1) suspicion and 2) indignation at the lack of transparency.

Knowing what you know about the GOP and Paul Ryan and McConnell and the likes why would you trust them

I can tell you one person who wrote their bill: Tom Donahue

Did anyone with a functioning brain think it would be anything else?

If you don't criticize it now, it's going to be to late when it comes to a vote. Repubs need to lock arms on this and openly discuss the three or four plans on the table. Then move forward with a full repeal and replace with one of the plans.

I saw some republican last night make fun of Rand Paul for grandstanding with cameras.

I am hoping this isn't true.

If it is true.... the republicans could frick up a wet dream and they will be primaried with freedom caucus type of people-- no matter how many fat cat privy island meetings they have.

Some of it has been leaked. Broader HSA and tax credits for premiums, no individual mandate, block granting Medicaid, and high risk pools instead of mandating coverage for pre-existing conditions.

Whether those 4 things survive and are in the final bill is anyone's guess. High risk pools have proven in the past to be a disaster. I like the idea of block granting Medicaid if the block grant is sufficient for each state's needs.

I agree but am keeping an open mind until I see the plan. If the new plan is as you say, we need to collectively chew their arse non-stop.

It would be unmitigated political suicide to throw millions of people off of plans and medicaid. There is no other choice than to do what the House is doing. There are a few ruby red districts and internet troll land where this fantasy of repealing and throwing people off their plans will work, but nowhere else. Thank God Ryan and TRUMP understand this.

In order to arrive at that conclusion, someone must have leaked it and the conclusion is that it is ObamaCare lite. Who read and evaluated it as such?

The reality is that the Dems knew that once they had poor people 'covered' with health insurance...it would be politically impossible to kick them off. And Trump is on record saying "we are not going to let people die in the street".

10% of the populous incurs 64% of the healthcare costs. Concentrating on that 10% and DEMANDING that they take personal responsibility for healthy habits should/must/will be a moral and practical necessity. The economics and morality of denying Granny or a (morally) faultless young person a temporary visit in ICU because a wounded street thug requires access should be the issue posed to the Public.

There are other repeal and replace plans out there. They need to be heard and voted on. Not developed in a locked room and then thrown for an up and down vote like the Dems passed ObamaCare.

Why would anyone have a problem with that?

Just don't let Michelle Obama try to implement healthier lunches in our schools, right?

And here we see the inherent problems in a democratic society.

Despite the fact that non-discretionary entitlement spending is the reason for our fiscal situation, which will only get worse in the long term, the incentives of elected officials to retain their office means that they will do what is necessary to keep their power and privilege, rather than having the leeway and foresight to make long-term decisions to the benefit of the country.
