in perfect world, yes
but when someone that claims to a scientist continually, over several decades, misinterpret and mislead in the name of science, the community is going to separate themselves from that person
this isn't to say that the person couldn't redeem themselves

The article about penises and climate change, while awesome, is borderline gibberish and fails own its own merits.
