Spicer muddied the water even more on Frederick Douglass with his awkward comments.
Yikes.
LINK
I guess Frederick Douglass will contribute more and more. And Trump will help Frederick's contributions become more and more.

I don't get worked up. I am actually laughing. I actually agree with a number of trump's policies. But to be fair, they actually do make some pretty dumb comments.
And also to be fair, I am seeing a hell of a lot of comments and threads with people getting worked up about Madonna, Ashley Judd, SJW of the hour, Facebook comments, whichever reporter, tweet, etc.
It's OK for even hardcore Trumpkins to laugh at some of the things he does or says sometimes. I promise.

He's a terrible press secretary. Trump should have put Conway as press secretary.

Black history month is such a load of bullshite. I'm disappointed Trump even tried to throw the proglodytes a bone on this one more than him goofing up in trying to pay tribute to a man whose entire life's work has been spit on in practice by modern liberals and blacks. Hopefully moving forward he'll simply not acknowledge the whole made up pity party y'all throw yourselves.

Tangerine has a hard on for Spicer.

You can't ice the Spice. Only the Spice can Ice the Spice, which he does every once in a while when he's off his game.

When I heard Trump's statement about Fredrick Douglas in context it really was no big deal.

Who is this y'all you speak of? I don't think you know enough about me to make that inaccurate statement . Lol

Do libs get paid extra for shite post?

Why does this matter?
In the grand scheme of things, it matters about as much as a story about some social justice warrior here that people get worked up about. But it was pretty obvious that Trump did not know who Frederick Douglass was, and may have not known he was dead, all while he was giving some talk on Black history month. And Spicer might have not either. It doesn't bother me one bit. It's just comedy gold
And like I said before. You (some of you) don't need to take this so personally. It's OK for even hardcore Trumpkins to laugh at some of the things he does or says sometimes. I promise. It's not going to change what he accomplishes as president

You will find it.

I'm speaking of you and like-minded individuals. Review your own post history with the understanding that the rest of the board has been absorbing in real time over your tenure and you'll realize that everyone here knows enough about you to make that accurate statement.

No you weren't. Why would I throw a black history party for me? Don't even try to crawfish your way out of that one.

That is a total crock of shite.
There was nothing in President Trump statement about Frederick Douglass that even suggests President Trump thinks Frederick Douglass isn't dead.
quote:
"Frederick Douglass is an example of somebody who's done an amazing job and is getting recognized more and more, I notice,"
President Trump said "who's done" which is a version of "who has done".
"Has done" is the Present Perfect of "do"
quote:
Problems in sequencing tenses usually occur with the perfect tenses, all of which are formed by adding an auxiliary or auxiliaries to the past participle, the third principal part.
ring, rang, rung
walk, walked, walked
The most common auxiliaries are forms of "be," "can," "do," "may," "must," "ought," "shall," "will," "has," "have," "had," and they are the forms we shall use in this most basic discussion.
Present Perfect
The present perfect consists of a past participle (the third principal part) with "has" or "have." It designates action which began in the past but which continues into the present or the effect of which still continues.
LINK
The absurd inference drawn from President Trump's statement about Frederick Douglass is that President Trump doesn't know Frederick Douglass is dead.
The proper inference drawn from President Trump's statement about Frederick Douglass is that President Trump thinks the effects of Frederick Douglass' life and work still continues today.
In response to President Trump's statement about Frederick Douglass, his family released a statement on the Huffington Post.
quote:
"Like the President, we use the present tense when referencing Douglass's accomplishments because his spirit and legacy are still very much alive, not just during Black History Month, but every month," the family wrote.
". . . We believe, if he had more time to elaborate, the President would have mentioned the following: Frederick Douglas has done an amazing job . . ."
LINK
Both President Trump and Frederick Douglass' family used "has done" to mean the same thing and that is Frederick Douglass' spirit and legacy are still very much alive today.
Anyone who Thinks President Trump saying "who's done" when referring to Frederick Douglass is proof that President Trump doesn't know Frederick Douglass is dead is either a moron or deliberately drawing the absurd inference from President Trump's statement about Frederick Douglass.
I think they are morons.
