Priority is ICE rolling in to town to scoop up bad hombres.

I don't get why people are so scared of recreational MJ. I get that some people will abuse it (that was Spice's argument), but the majority of people will treat it almost the same as alcohol. I havent seen many negative things come from it here in CO. If federally legal it could be a brand new multibillion dollar industry. Thats jobs and money for the US. Plus taxing the shite out of it on the state level brings in a lot of extra money. After living in a state for 3 years that sells it recreationally, I think there are a lot more positives to legalizing MJ than negatives.

Colorado just collected $100 million in sales tax related to MJ sales.
These numbers are misleading. They take in that much because it's illegal elsewhere.

well if you're fedgov, then you have to give up power
and there is a slippery slope with one of their biggest hammers: the WOD
they don't want to let the population see that MJ is no big deal, b/c then we will start to ask why the WOD is necessary

Republicans don't give a shite about less government. Who cares about personal freedom?

They shouldn't collect any tax from it.
Not even standard sales tax? Like everything else you buy?

I am so upset if they go after recreational. That is so stupid. Leave it the frick alone man. It's dumb. It is better overall than alcohol. Leave it alone. It isn't hurting anyone. Also it isn't the government's job to say what someone can cannot put into thier own body.

Well just don't live by the mantra of "I can't wait for retirement to get here". It just makes it seem as if retirement will never get there.

This DOJ trying to punish states with legalized marijuana would be the least surprising thing ever

Ok let's say it's $50 million. That's enough to fund an entire state university.
Plus, you save money in enforcement, incarceration, etc.

Ummm... Why not? It helps fund a ton of state level projects that otherwise states that legalize rec couldn't afford.

I have not smoked in years either. I wouldn't even if legal. Last time I tried it, it gave me anxiety. I just don't like it anymore.
I know people who just like weed. It makes them happy. Helps thier anxiety, depression, or hell it's what they use to relax instead of the poison that is alcohol.
I like to drink. I do not care if someone smokes weed. It's better than my drinking. More power to them. Less power to the government. This shouldn't be an issue. Weed should be legal. Tax it the same as alcohol. Make sure you keep regulations out of it so it is cheap enough, and your quality is high enough that it destroys drug cartels. Boom.
