I'm an idiot who kinda lives with my head buried in the sand. Not a big Facebooker, news, or overall media guy.

Give me down votes if you must, but if so, please also leave a bit of wisdom.

thanks

With Russia's help, Syria's military (Assad) is fighting the Rebels who want to get rid of Assad. The media story is the deaths of civilians... lots of civilians.

so what assad is doing is justified? the way he is doing it is wrong it sounds, but the cause itself is justified? IS he a bad guy? I just watched a few video clips of him and his main points were he likes the US and looks forward to working with trump

The real answer is that Russia has a navy base in Syria, sells a lot of NG to Europe, and likes Assad. The Saudis and Bahrainis (who own us) want to build an NG pipeline through Iraq, Syria, and Turkey to supply Europe (thus totally screwing over the Russians). To do that, they first have to get rid of Assad and install a pro-US government in Syria. But unfortunately for the Bahrainis, Obama is an ineffectual fop, and Assad and Russia will win the war and stay in control.

The rebels in aleppo, who are composed of hardline Islamic groups such as isis and nusrah, were under seige from pro assad forces composed of Syrian soldiers, Iranian backed militias, and Russian air power. The rebels lost.

I don't get why we haven't been supporting Assad if he is even remotely secular. We can't have more power vacuums popping up for isis to spread their disease.

Syria's daddy had some unruly children. Daddy said stop or you will be punished severely. Children said" we don't care." Dady said, "well now you get the belt." Children continued to act up. Kids got way out of hand for dad. Dad called up Uncle Vlad. Uncle Vlad helped Dad. Kids were in deep doo doo.

Hey, those are value questions. It's like all wars. The answers depend on which side you're on.

Qatar and Saudi Arabia, in cahoots with The Muslim Brotherhood, want some pipelines in the region and Syria is in the way.

Obama and Hillary conveniently became pals with Qatar and SA around 2010-11 and we began funding FSA (Free Syrian Army) "Rebels" and a group called The Selefast.

Basically Obama and Hillary hired mercenaries, and secretly also armed them, and these mercenaries turned out to be Al Qaeda. And the Selefast, once we bailed out of Iraq, declared themselves an Islamic State, which we now know as ISIS.

So we funded and armed Al Qaeda and ISIS to try and overthrow Assad at the behest of Qatar and SA.... presumably for access to pipelines and oil once Assad is ousted and replaced with a Muslim Brotherhood puppet.

Except Russia and Iran came in and began helping Assad. Likely because they also want access to oil.

Assad is a Bathist (same as Saddam) - Think mafia boss
Assad is aligned with Iran because the Iranians are Shia Muslims and are the enemy of Saudi Arabia (Sunni Captial of World)
Russia is aligned with the Iranians ( they both hate America)
Putin (world's most powerful mafia leader) has used Syria as a testing ground for new weaponry and wants a larger presence in Middle East and has killed thousands of civilians in the process of "assisting" Assad.
Russia is in the early stages of "blowback" the longer this thing goes. They already lost 1 ambassador and a plane full of civilians, not that Putin gives a shite about them.

Saudi Arabia is envious of Russia's pipeline of cash that flows through Syria.

Saudi Arabia promotes radical Islamists who are very effective at radicalizing Arabic youths

Saudi Arabia enlists the US to provide support for the newly created rebel groups (mixture of al Qaeda, ISIS, and other lovely groups)

Saudi propogandists and Russian propogandists fight to make the other's puppets look worse than their own.

Russia and Assad are successfully combating the rebels.

There is a solid chance that the devistation in Allepo is, in part, self inflicted by the rebels in an attempt to drum up sympathy and support from Western nations.

I've got an idea. Obama can just call Vlad and say 'Cut it out.'
