So how long until we have a Supreme Court justice confirmed by the Senate?

My guess is it won't happen until after the mid-terms.
I find it very sad, but true.
The Democrats are going to hold filibusters every time the vote comes up and are going to stall this thing just like the Republicans did to them last year. With the Republicans without the 60 needed votes to stop a filibuster, I just don't see it happening.
Our legislature is a mess.

After the mid-terms we can't do it- have to wait for the 2020 election then have to let the people have a say.

Besides confirming some of Trump's nominations, when was the last time congress actually voted on a bill or done anything, really? 2014? 2015?

So kill the filibuster.
The rule is dumb anyway.

President nominates and the Senate confirms, therefore, appointing. Senate has last say, so that would be appointing.
ETA: I went ahead and changed the wording for you to understand.

so can I propose a no-confidence bid in Chancellor Trump and get an even worse guy put in charge?

Dems are gonna fold on Gorsuch. If another SCOTUS spot comes open this summer its anybody's guess, but the Dems are rightly scared of these midterms.

The dem senators up for reelection won't be able to stall much on this confirmation.

Well, the first hearing is on 3/20. So, probably around the end of May, but by the end of the term at the latest.
They will know by April 15 whether they need to go nuclear or not.

Except recess appointments are temporary, so that really wouldn't count much for anything.
