So Comey Leaked His Memo Indirectly Through A Friend At Columbia

Why would this upstanding boyscout do that instead of simply handing it to the media himself?

One of the strangest moments in the James Comey hearing came when he cryptically confirmed asking a close friend to leak a memo about his dealings with Trump to the press. Comey didn’t name him, but he was referring to Daniel C. Richman, a professor at Columbia University’s Law School best known as an adviser to Comey.

Comey said that he thought that if he leaked the memo himself it would be like "feeding seagulls at the beach."

So now we know that Comey not only leans Democrat, he leans Left.
We know that Comey colluded with Ivy League schools for political favor and the hope that he could one day be hired on their faculty after he got tired of his, in his own mind, lifetime appointment as Director, FBI.
Comey is a total political bureaucrat animal and he's always been interested in what's best for COMEY.

They had to out the leaker prematurely (because it wasn't gaining traction) to lend credence to it. The timeline is gong to be a sticky wicket for Jimmy.

I'm interested in Daniel Richman's political background. I looked on FEC stuff and it looks like his contributions have been minimal, but democrats.
His wife is Alexandra Bowie and it appears she gave to Obama and Clinton campaigns in low amounts.
Edit- and it looks like Bowie's mom, Marilyn Bowie, was deputy director in NY of the affiliate development and education division of Planned Parenthood.
Second edit - Richman's dad was an NLRB regional lawyer and a labor arbitrator.
Knowing Richman's background gives insight on Comey's motives.

Obama is a snake in the grass insinuating Comey was a republican. He is not only a democrat but very left politically. Comey was on the take and placed by Obama not because he was a republican, that's for damn sure.

If you think about it, the leak of that memo is essentially preventing Comey from stating definitely that he believed Trump was attempting to obstruct justice. If he states that is his belief, he has essentially admitted to leaking a key piece of evidence in a criminal investigation to the press. By hedging his bets and riding the fence on it, he is attempting to keep the memo just a memo. Does anyone else see the tight rope he is walking? On one hand he wants to get back at Trump for firing him, but by doing so he opened himself up to serious criminal charges. Today was less about Trump and more about James Comey keeping his arse out of legal trouble. He got his shots in on Trump when he could, but he knows what a massive mistake he made leaking that memo.

Why wouldn't he just hand it to one of the like 800 investigative bodies? I mean it's a giant nothing, but going through a 3rd party to the media is shady

But this is how DC works. There's no Russian angle left. So now we had to work an obstruction of justice of no underlying crime. That's all Special Prosecutors do. And the only intent is to bog down the Bully pulpit and put it on defense. frick em all.

Because they would have buried it as a nothing burger. And no Special Prosecutor gets appointed. The media angle was the only way to get a SP.
